10.01.2022 UPDATE ON BIG BEN, THE WALCHA WHOPPER We have been fortunate to hear from Edde Waugh's (pictured right) daughter Meg on the sale and fate of their milker's calf Big Ben. Ben was sold on 20 August 1956 and processed at the Tamworth abattoir on 22 August. The carcass length was 10 foot 9 inches (3.22m) the girth 2.6m and the depth of the brisket was 3 foot 6 inches (1.2m). Dressed weight was 1795 pounds (815kg). The photo of the carcass was taken by Cambridge Studios of Peel St. Tamworth.

07.01.2022 MONDAY MEMORIES - WALCHA WHOPPER Sold by Garvin and Cousens, account R and E Waugh, Bergen-Op-Zoom, Walcha, in 1959, this 8 year old bullock tipped the scales with a dressed weight of 1,795 pounds (816kg). The bullock was 12 foot (3.6m) from tip to tip and was 5 foot 9 inches (1.47m) high and returned the vendors 81 pounds and one shilling.
