24.01.2022 Following the Budget, we have spoken with Andrew Wallace MP. Unfortunately no funds in the budget for Gateway (for Bldg project at Currimundi) but Andrew contin...ues to encourage us to pursue our goals and is supportive of Gateway's services. He has suggested other possible grant funding avenues which we will explore. We'll keep working toward our goals "with patience" and I'm sure that if we remain persistent we will see this eventuate. Thanks everyone for your encouragement and support. See more

We definitely need help from all levels of Government and recognise they have a difficult role they have in distribution of funds to meet community needs. Andrew Wallace - LNP Federal Member for Fisher has continued to show support for Gateway and provided funds to help our Energy costs (15Kw Solar Panels) and large Freezer Room for food storage. (Thanks so much). Sunshine Coast Council's offer of land for Community Lease is also huge (taken many years of campaigning). So from our position Local and Federal Gov't have definitely been supportive. Not a cracker though from the Qld State Government in a decade. But there is still time!!

01.01.2022 We are so grateful to Sunshine Coast Council Division 2 Cr Terry Landsberg and Division 3 Cr Peter Cox who assisted us with the upgrade of our Forklift. The Forklift cost was $21,000 and Councillors contributed $3,489 toward the purchase. Also a special thanks to Crosby Foundation for their $5,000 contribution. So helpful. More than 10 tonne of food is delivered to Gateway each week helping more than 1,000 families. 33% of Qlders facing hunger in 2020 have never experienced it before the pandemic.
