20.01.2022 We are chatting to Steph today about how she has been keeping busy! We miss Steph’s smiling face in the studio but we are lucky enough to still see her downstairs. GW: What have you been doing to keep yourself busy during lockdown? SG: I have been doing a lot more baking. Prior to this year cooking has never been something that I’ve really enjoyed but I’ve used my extra free time to try out some new recipes.... GW: What have you missed the most? SG: I have missed seeing my family and friends the most and I cannot wait until we are allowed to see each other again! GW: Do you have any advice to someone who is having a rough time right now? SG: Try to set short term goals or small projects to work towards. I have found this has really helped me to stay productive and stimulated and maintain a positive mindset during these uncertain times.

19.01.2022 Dr Daniel Mason (Osteopath) loves talking physical training and sporting injuries, he is available today and many Saturdays at Gateway. If you have recently returned to the gym and maybe overdone things a little, possibly trying to shed some covid kilos? - You’re not alone we have seen many patients like this in the past few weeks. It may be worth seeing Daniel or one of our other Osteopaths for an assessment, some treatment, and advice. Phone 94315773

18.01.2022 When you drop the milk and you know you’re not supposed to cry... but then even the milk even tells you it’s had enough of all this social distancing. And no.. we don’t practice safe social milking! Luckily still enough for a coffee!!

17.01.2022 Today we have asked Shonadh what she has been up to during isolation. Shonadh is still very active online taking virtual appointments so if you miss her excellent eye for detail please reach out to us and we can book you in! GW: What have you been doing to keep yourself busy? ST: Being very fortunate to live on a size-able block of land in a beautiful part of the world, I’ve been doing LOTS of gardening. Pictured are the two new Apple trees that are acting as a memorial for t...he magnificent Springs Argyle, my old thoroughbred, who died at the ripe old age of 32. One of these trees grows a type of apple that was first mentioned in 16th century France so I’m really looking forward to making apple tarts from that in a few more years! GW: What do you miss the most? ST: Walking around without a face mask - my glasses keep fogging up! GW: What is one piece of advice you would give someone who is struggling at the moment? ST: This is a really tough time for most people. I find it helpful to take a few moments each day to think of the things and people that I’m fortunate to have in my life. There is always someone worse off and it’s easy to get caught in a spiral of negativity when really there is a lot to be thankful for.

17.01.2022 Hi Jacqui! Whilst Jacqui is still available to treat urgent patients at this stage, we have missed seeing her in the studio. We asked Jacqui a few questions about what she had been up to: GW: What have you been doing to keep busy during iso?... JG: My new food obsession called butterbings has kept me busy - walking to the local cafe a little more often than I should to get one . If you are a sweet tooth I highly recommend! GW: What have you missed the most? JG: I have missed catch-ups with friends, and the gym! It has been good mixing up the exercise regime and getting creative with different exercises though GW: What advice do you have for anyone struggling right now? JG: My advice for when the going is tough is to keep focusing on the good - no matter how small. Stay connected and let your loved ones know that they are loved

15.01.2022 We know many of our patients were hoping we could see them again this week, at this stage unless it is urgent we look like having to wait at least until the 28th of September to help some of you. If you need to talk to your Osteopath about your self management, we have setup Free 5minute Telehealth consults, we also offer 1/2 hour paid sessions. We know many of you are in pain. Our team hate having to tell some of you that your not in enough pain or you condition is not severe enough to receive treatment. We are hard wired to wanting help people and we are missing the ability to do so, not to mention the human contact. Stay well everyone and please reach out if we can help in any way. Kind regards Stuart & the team at Gateway.

15.01.2022 Important stage 4 lockdown update! We will be closed until Monday the 10th - whilst we are able to stay open in stage 4 we are still waiting on more details. We will update you as we learn more. We understand many of our patients will be frustrated by this news and we appreciate your understanding. ... What we know at this stage is, you’ll need a GP referral to see an Osteopath. You’ll need to forward that referral to us and keep it with you combined with you appointment reminder as evidence when you travel for your appointment. Please know we are doing all we can to navigate this, and keep watching this space for updates. Kind Regards, Team Gateway.

15.01.2022 Please give a warm welcome to our new receptionist Molly who is also studying teaching. We thought we would share her lovely smile as you will only see her with a mask on for the time being.

14.01.2022 Clinic update: Restrictions easing for allied health as of 28th of September. We know due to the restrictions we had to turn away many patients in pain during stage 4 lockdown. We thank-you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to seeing you back in the clinic soon. Stay strong Victoria!

11.01.2022 We miss Val and the calmness that she brings to the studio. We are sure her clients miss her teaching as well! GW: What have you been doing to keep yourself busy during isolation? VR: I’ve been busy playing school teacher! We have also been doing a lot of painting and having craft afternoons. I have been practicing my handstands and enjoying cuddles with our new pet Tommy.... GW: What do you miss the most? VR: I miss seeing all the smiling clients face to face. I miss camping trips with friends. GW: What advice do you want to give to our clients during these times? VR: Aussie battlers - you can do this! These years will make us stronger and more resilient than ever. We will appreciate the simple things in life and treasure the most precious relationships.

09.01.2022 Dear Patients, We apologise to anybody who has been trying to use our booking system this weekend, we have spent the past few days changing to a different software. If you need to make an urgent appointment or book less urgently for after the Stage 4 lockdown we believe we are now up and running again.... Our phone will be attended from 9am tomorrow. Thankyou for your patience and understanding, stay safe. Kind Regards, Stuart & the team @ Gateway Osteopathy. https://gateway-osteopathy-and-pilates.au1.cliniko.com/book

04.01.2022 To our valued patients, Gateway Osteopathy can still continue to provide you with Osteopathic services for patients that require URGENT CARE. Stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne is about limiting the amount of movement in the community to help slow the spread of COVID-19. ... You do not need a referral from a GP to see an Osteopath. However, our Osteopaths will screen you prior to your appointment to determine whether your condition requires urgent care, or whether it can wait until we are out of stage 4 restrictions. For all appointments booked next week, your Osteopath will call you prior to your appointment. For any future appointments our team will send you a screening questionnaire which we will assess. If you have already obtained a referral letter from your GP please bring it to your appointment for us to make a copy, this will assist in your ability to access URGENT CARE. Please get in touch if you have any questions on 9431 5773 or go to our website (link in bio) to contact us. Stay safe, take care and please reach out if we can help in any way. Kind regards, Stuart, Dana, and the team at Gateway Osteopathy.

03.01.2022 We have our morning tea sorted here at Gateway this morning! Today is R U OK? Day. A national day of action where we talk about having those conversations which could change someone’s life. This year, the focus is on what to ask after asking R U OK? Some suggestions include:... Im here to listen How are you feeling about that? It sounds like that would be really tough, how are you going with managing it? Have you been feeling this way for a while? You don’t need to have all the answers. Just letting that person know that you care and that they are worthy of being cared about is sometimes enough. And thank you to @dtrhcafe for our delicious bronuts . . . #theresmoretosay #ruok #ruokday #ruokeveryday #suicideprevention #kindness #conversationstarters #mentalhealth #listen #itsoknottobeok #itsokaytonotbeokay
