24.01.2022 Meet the Members of Gateway! Hello there! My name is Rob, Gateway’s assistant unit leader. How long have you been a member of gateway?... I have been a member since Nov 2017, almost 3 years now. What do you like about being a Rover/part of Gateway? I really enjoy the social aspect of Rovering. Being amongst kind, supportive and convivial peers really keeps me keen to see what fun activity we have coming up on Tuesday or on the weekend. Favourite Rover event you have attended? Recently, I attended an amazing hike on K’gari (Fraser Island) planned by the wonderful Pandora Peers. The serenity and natural wonders were truly spectacular. I recommend this walk to everyone. Do you have any Rover related goals? Absolutely! So many ahaha. I hope to get along to a basic rover training course in the next 6 months. Beyond that I hope to achieve my BP Award by the end of 2021. Nice to meet you, Robert! Who will be our next Rover introduced?

What are your top three favourite things about being a part of Gateway and Queensland Rovers? 1. I always look forward to our bi-annual crew camps. I’m not the biggest fan of camping but ill always make sure I attend our winter and summer crew camps! I love going to the beach, hanging around the campfire and out for dinner. All around a great time with my unit. 2. Being a part of the executive team - this is my first role within the unit and although secretary can be a bit stressful at times, we recently had our quarterly business meeting and it was completed in the fastest time yet! 3. Being with such a great unit I’ve met so many new rovers and friends since I started in 2018, although we have different goals and ambitions within the movement, we always end up a having lot of fun together! Favourite Rover event you have attended? Is there one you are looking forward to attending? I loved the St Georges Ball I attended in 2019. Any opportunity to dress up looks like a lot of fun to me! I’m also excited to participate in the Ireland World Moot in 2022. Do you have any goals whilst in Rovers? I recently achieved my St Georges award which was my main goal in rovers. I’m hoping to achieve some more badges in the future whatever they may be. I’m also looking into participating in a few more training courses so I can take up some more leadership positions within our unit. Nice to meet you Trilby! Who will be our next Rover introduced?
