25.01.2022 A very Happy New Year from us all at Gathering Men. This shot taken early in the New Year. Sunset on Jaara - Dja-Dja-Wurrung country. Looking north east from the edge of Lalgambook. Something quintessentially Australian about this scene isn’t there. The colours, rusty barbed wire fence and those hand cut fence posts. Surrounded by all that swaying golden grass. ... Yet a reminder that for many, life is not always colourful sunsets. We can all find ourselves feeling fenced in at times. Fenced in by the barriers that we construct. Within & without. Between where we are & where we’re headed. Who we’re told we are & who we feel we’re meant to be. Fence lines between us & them. Light. Shade. And sometimes Real darkness & despair. For some, these fences loom large. And at these times we can feel very alone. Despite the beauty of all that surrounds us. So, in 2021 we are doubling down. Committed to our journey. Doing our bit to help reimagine healthy masculinity. We will continue to provide healing spaces both On-Line & On-Country. Looking forward to having you with us in 2021. Here on this sacred Jaara - Dja-Dja-Wurrung country. Here, on Larnebarramul. Cushioned safely by Lalgambook, Leanganuc, Tarrangower & Kooroocheang. We love this place. We care for this country. And in turn it cares for us. Such a blessing to connect to this land with this group of men. To allow spirit to hold & open us up. Old ceremony country gently awoken once again.
