24.01.2022 Dear Parents, Carers and members of the Gatton State School community, As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve we are seeing the positive signs of life and lifestyle slowly returning. We acknowledge the start to this term has been unusual and I thank you for your patience as we have worked through these challenging times. Your support has allowed us to maintain a focus on teaching and learning and some normality of routine for the children of our school.... As a result, Gatton State School warmly welcomes back all students, staff and families . . . we have missed you! Even though school is ready for learning, certain practices remain in place to maintain a safe environment for everyone. We ask that all adults: Maintain 1.5m physical distance from each other, Refrain from congregating in and around areas such as school gates, carparks and outside classrooms please, STOP, DROP and GO; Practise effective hand hygiene and cough/sneeze etiquette; Stay away from the school if unwell. We will continue to keep you informed of latest information affecting our great school. Again, thank you for your understanding as we continue to work together to support and educate your children during this difficult and unprecedented time. W. Merchant Principal

Students in Kindy, Prep, Year 1, Year 11 and Year 12 will return to school on May 11, while s...tudents in Years 2 to 10 will continue remote learning at home. We will review the situation on May 15, with the goal to return the remaining students on May 25 if low COVID-19 transmission rates continue. Children of essential workers and vulnerable children are still able to attend school. A sensible and gradual return is only possible because of Queensland’s success in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
