Only $8 per lesson per child (the centre covers the rest of the lesson cost).... Pre-Prep starts Monday 2nd Nov and will continue each fortnight until the end of the school term. Senior Kindy starts Monday 9th Nov and will continue each fortnight until the end of the school term.

24.01.2022 Talk Like a Pirate Day, nationally recognised on 19th September as the major fundraiser for Childhood Cancer Support, is an opportunity to polish ye hook and say AHOY there, me hearties to all ye mateys, school crew and work mates. 24.01.2022 Last week Pre Prep used some of the donated materials from the recycle box in the foyer. They cut up the materials they selected into different shapes and sizes and used their imagination to create master pieces. We saw some trains, space ships, mermaids, robots and even people.

Our awesome owners also helped by donating an extra $100 on top of our $50.00. A total donation this year of $150.00. *** This national event supports Children's Medical Research Institute and helps find cures for children's genetic diseases.... Volunteers across the country sell merchandise, collect donations and spread the word about Jeans for Genes on the day.

19.01.2022 On Monday night the Gaven ELC Team participated in their annual 'Provide Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting and CPR Training' with Kevin from 'Human Emergency Response Training'. First Aid and CPR is something that everyone can benefit from. Here at Gaven Early Learning Centre all our staff members hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate. These qualifications also include training in the emergency management of asthma and anaphylaxis.

19.01.2022 Over the past fortnight we have been celebrating ANZAC day across the centre. All the children have engaged in meaningful conversations and stories about the significance of this special day, as well as participating in several Poppy themed arts and crafts. Take a look at all these smiles while they learn though play!

We are very excited to let you all know that one of our wonderful parents Miss Hayley has kindly offered her time to teach free dance lessons every Thursday morning for our Pre Prep and Senior Kindy children. Miss Hayley is a qualified dance teacher and owns her own studio in Loganholme called 'Gerrards Performing Arts Centre - GPAC'. ... Miss Hayley and family have been apart of our Gaven ELC family since 2017 when her eldest daughter started at the centre. Miss Hayleys youngest daughter attends our service and in the Senior Kindy room. We can not thank Miss Hayley enough for her generous contribution of her time to teach our little ones. 10.01.2022 Today the Vacation Care children went on a 'Wild Adventure' to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Led by one of the experienced and qualified wildlife education officers, the children went on a 'Wildlife Discovery Experience' this interactive experience gave the Vacation Care children the opportunity to meet and learn about three of our amazing animals; while participating in interactive activities.

06.01.2022 Happy Diwali Miss Anj has been very busy cooking up a storm for Diwili. She has lovingly prepared a tasting box of traditional foods. If you would like to try one they will be available this afternoon in the foyer. Miss Anj has also been teaching our children all about Diwali while they help her decorate our entrance. You may notice today that some of our Gaven ELC team have been chosen to wear some of Miss Anj's beautiful dresses. Make sure you get a quick pic with y...our favourite of the day.... (there may just be a little prize for the parents who posts a photo of themselves and the educator wearing the winning dress).. **Diwali is called the Festival of Lights and is celebrated to honor Rama-chandra, the seventh avatar (incarnation of the god Vishnu). It is believed that on this day Rama returned to his people after 14 years of exile during which he fought and won a battle against the demons and the demon king, Ravana. People lit their houses to celebrate his victory over evil (light over darkness). The goddess of happiness and good fortune, Lakshmi, also figures into the celebration. It is believed that she roams the Earth on this day and enters the house that is pure, clean, and bright.

As of Monday 17th August they are very proudly starting their very own store and will be selling yummy vegetables for all families to buy. Make sure you have some gold coins to get some fresh produce for your dinner..

05.01.2022 Introducing our new iCheckin Kiosk! Miss Amber (our resident handy person) put together our new kiosk this morning. Included are some helpful trays with parent forms that you may need and some parent brochures. There is also a how to log in sign attached above the kiosk for some of us who need a little reminder in the early mornings. Parent forms included are: * Pre-Attendance Injury Form * Notification of Holidays Form... * Family Input * Direct Debit Authorisation Form Next week Miss Amber will add a parent feedback form and a suggestion box.

This is our biggest donation yet! Congratulations everyone for pulling together and giving to this great appeal. ** The Pyjama Foundation provides children in foster care the opportunity to ...change the direction of their lives with learning, life skills and confidence. Through the Love of Learning program, volunteers called ‘Pyjama Angels’ are recruited, screened, trained and then matched with a child in care and spend time with them once a week, focusing on learning-based activities. Pyjama Angels read books aloud with their child, play educational games and help children with their homework. Most importantly, the volunteers give foster children a chance to reach their life potential, despite a fragile start. Children in care have the lowest education outcomes nationally. By improving their learning skills, The Pyjama Foundation is making a positive, life-long impact. Whether they want to grow up to be an astronaut or a doctor, The Pyjama Foundation is there to help them reach their full potential by assisting them with their learning, and by providing consistent love and support.
