19.01.2022 Congratulations to Searle Racing with the excellent win by 'He Will Boom' on Melbourne Cup Day at Morphetville. The 5yo gelding bringing up his 3rd win in 18 starts and as jockey Dom Tourneur salutes returning to scale, we salute you all for the wonderful result. Good luck to the stable for a big couple of days with Pt Lincoln and Gawler tomorrow, hopefully more to come.

18.01.2022 Great day at Gawler Labour Day Races. It was wonderful to see Local trainer Andrew Beswick and his partner Claire with a winner. Crutches and all, Andrew nearly threw them over the fence after his 8yo Mare Tatties had a great win in Race 7. It was Tatties 2nd win in her 18 start career and hopefully more in store for the hard working Gawler Trainer. Congrats Andrew and Claire, we are all very happy for you both.

17.01.2022 Thank you to everybody who chose to celebrate the beginning of the new year at the Gawler & Barossa Jockey Club. We were gifted with a perfectly sunny day and a strong crowd. - Local Gawler Trainer Brett Campbell's filly Indian Gazelle had an impressive win with a strong 1.3-length win over the 1100m trip. - Later in the day another local trainer Darren Magro's Khani Star sprinted home with a huge lead making it two in a row for her here at Gawler.... - Kayla Crowther took riding honours with a treble in consecutive races riding Taken Off, Four of a Kind, Stan the Caddy in front of her mother who had never witnessed her ride a winner before. Our next Race Meeting is Saturday the 23rd of January.

10.01.2022 Congratulations to the team at Searle Racing after their 4yo mare Kishstar broke through at Murray bridge on Sunday. The win comes at her 7th start and 4 minor placings before yesterdays win. Owned locally Jason Holder got the horse in a beautiful spot before careering away with a decisive win. Well done to Gary and Nichole and the team at Searle Racing.

03.01.2022 FRYER ON FIRE Gawler trainer Graham Fryer has his small but talented race team absolutely flying at the moment. The first up win by his 4yo mare Mrs Hyde on Saturday at Morphettville was further proof that the horses under his care are very talented, and Fryer has very good training technique’s ensuring he gets the best out of them. With the small team of horses he handles, rule of thumb is generally he will only have 2 horses in work at any one time, but that does not stop ...him from getting a success rate many larger stables would crave for. Since April 20th 2020, Graham has had 10 starters and 5 of these have saluted as winners along with two (2) placings. Going at an astonishing 50% winning ratio to runners over the past six months, Fryer really has his team going well. Saturday his little grey flash Mrs Hyde jumped the barriers to lead comfortably then power away again on the turn and win by 2 lengths for jockey Sophie Logan, bringing up the mare’s 3rd win in its 6 starts. At the Gawler Cup ‘Breakfast with the Stars’ last Tuesday morning Fryer had his stable rider Tyson Bird-Balek give the mare a nice little hit out leading into Saturday’s first up run and it was noticeable that she was primed first up. Costing Fryer just $4750 the Mare by a Snitzel colt called Salade has now won just shy of $40,000 in 6 starts, and on Saturdays effort this tally will be added to again shortly. Congratulations must go to Graham Fryer and his passionate small team of helpers who do a wonderful job with the horses, the team here at the Gawler & Barossa Jockey Club are very excited and proud of your efforts.

01.01.2022 SATURDAY 2ND JANUARY RACE MEETING Gates will open at 11:00am with General Admission Tickets available at the gate. The first race starts at 12:36pm with the last of 9 races at 5:40pm.... Just a reminder that we do not require owner to pre-register their intention to attend at this race meeting as we have pre-allocated tickets for owners. Please note that the Gawler Trainline is now completely closed for electrification works. Substitute buses will be in place and will stop on Barnet Road just near Birkett Street.
