20.01.2022 Given the recent return to COVID-19 capacity restrictions (1 person per 4 square metres, rather than 1/2m2) the uncertainty and concern around health risks of large public gatherings and to ensure the safety of our staff, community and artists, the Here Comes The Sun: Beatles Tribute by Rachael Leahcar show (Friday 27 November) has been postponed. The Gawler Civic Centre will be working to reschedule the performance at another time. Anyone who has already bought tickets to th...e performance will be provided with full ticket refunds ASAP. 19.01.2022 Town of Gawler Update Wednesday 18 November 2020 As you may be aware the State Government has just announced some significant restrictions for the next 6 days..., with people essentially only able to leave their residences for work if they are an essential service provider, to attend the supermarket, seek medical attention and in response emergency situations. While Local Government is again classed as an essential services provider, our publicly facing services for the next 6 days will be limited to those that are required in order to maintain Council’s minimal operational requirements. The following operations will now occur for the next 6 days: Gawler Sport and Community Centre Closed from Wednesday 18 November Gawler Aquatic Centre Closed from Wednesday 18 November Gawler Administration Centre Closed from Wednesday 18 November (however Customer Service staff will be onsite to answer phones) Gawler Civic Centre Closed from Wednesday 18 November Gawler Visitor Information Centre Closed from Wednesday 18 November Gawler Public Library and Evanston Gardens Library Closed from Wednesday 18 November Civil Construction and Horticulture Programs Will cease during this period Public Facing Services Relative to the Public and Environmental Health, Community Safety and Town Maintenance, these will continue as usual (rapid response, town cleaning, litter/rubbish management, irrigation management, tree watering, etc.) To assist in this regard, there will be some limited customer service staff onsite to answer phones and assist triage customer requests. NAWMA NAWMA’s kerbside bin collection service will continue as normal during the COVID lockdown period. Both of NAWMA’s Resource Recovery Centres will be closed from 4pm Wednesday 18 November until midnight Tuesday 24 November All hard waste collection services scheduled during the lockdown period are cancelled and residents will be contacted with an alternate date. More information will be updated on NAWMA’s website www.nawma.sa.gov.au as details become available.
