24.01.2022 During this recent pandemic outbreak of Covid 19 all Toddler Room Educators have been focusing on the health and emotional well being of all children and their families. We have been intentionally teaching all health and hygiene practices throughout our room. This includes stringent hand washing routines and social distancing practices throughout the day. Educators have been washing all toys after use and sanitising all pens which have been used, by having 2 cups with clean a...nd dirty pens. We are minimising group times and meal times having smaller table top experiences with only 2 children per table for play and meals. Natural ventilation is ensured with windows and doors open and more outside play promoted. For children who sleep the beds are spaced further apart and children are sleeping in the head to toe positions. We thank you all for your cooperation during this pandemic and all educators will ensure our high standards are maintained as per usual. We do not own the rights to the music and are not affiliated with the wiggles in anyway.

17.01.2022 Our caterpillar family is growing in the kindy room with the arrival of 8 new caterpillars thanks to the generosity of Aidan and his family . Last week one of our previous caterpillars formed its cocoon and we look forward to watching the life cycles process with our new caterpillars. The children were very excited to watch them munch on the milk weed leaves this morning and we even had a couple of them crawling up and exploring the curriculum board!

09.01.2022 I am learning how to wash my hands thoroughly with soap and water. We wash our backs, fronts, between fingers, under nails, and wrists with soapy for 20 seconds. I am learning this needs to be done before all meals, after nappy and toilet times, after blowing my nose , coughing into my arm, after touching my face and when I enter my childcare room. We do not own the rights to the music.

07.01.2022 Kaurna Mural Have you seen our wonderful mural in the preschool? The mural represents the 3 rivers of Gawler. The black swan, red kangaroo and yabby are endemic to this area. Prior to pre-settlement Gawler was like an oasis with many species of plants including edible yams. The mural also represents Gawler as a meeting place, and shows the children who are still yet to come. We hope you like it, we think it is a beautiful and were so fortunate that Kristien Smith from the Kaurna region created this masterpiece for us

01.01.2022 A message from our Directors I am so proud to be the Director of our centre who has the opportunity to work with children, families and staff who are so caring and supporting. We want to share some love and warmth at these stressful times and celebrate how awesome our families and staff team are: ... - We have families that are on the front line in health and education each day - we think you are wonderful - Families and Educators are checking in with each other regularly to show that we care - We particularly thank our families and educators who have adopted new procedures including delivering and collection of children in the foyer. - Our Management Committee are a dedicated bunch who meet regularly (now on-line) to strive for best outcomes for our centre - Families are utilising their vacancies to minimise spread of any health concerns - my thoughts are with those who are going through a very difficult time. Some of you have contacted me today to advise that you no longer have work. We are so sorry to hear this is your experience. I strongly encourage families to access the Additional Child Care Subsidy. This support is for families who have unexpected loss of employment. Please take the time to look at this (emailed to families today or at https://docs.education.gov.au/node/50756) as your child care fees can be covered for a period of up to 13 weeks. Your loss of employment is not your fault due to COVID-19 and this assistance is for you. Thank you everyone for your support, and stay safe. Jeannine & Sharon
