21.01.2022 The Gawler Eagles FC Under 11s were at home today, hosting the Playford Patriots. The Gawler boys came out the gates firing, making best use of the blustery conditions and taking advantage. Playford had a changed up line-up from our earlier season encounter, with the addition of some significantly bigger lads, matched to a physically aggressive game style. The Gawler boys kept cool heads and were resilient, using their skill and sportsmanship to advantage. ... Today offered some life learnings for our Gawler boys that will stead them well for the future and we are super proud of how each of them played, conducted themselves and represented our Club. Well done to our Award recipients James, Elijah, Thomas, Felix, Corban, and Brody. Congratulations to our goal scorers Felix, James and Brody.

21.01.2022 The Gawler Eagles FC Under 11s travelled today, with an early morning away game against Salisbury Inter. The Gawler boys came out the gates firing, filling their pockets in the first half through passing the ball with precision, lots of chat and out bodying the Salisbury lads. For the second half Salisbury Inter loaded up their Team into the back line in an attempt to try and slow the play. All the Gawler lads played very well and continue to listen and implement their learnings from training. Congratulations to our goal scorers Josh, Lachlan, Elijah and Felix.

21.01.2022 The U12 JPL points were split today in a 1-all draw at home, with GEFC taking on Modbury Jets. The GEFC boys play a structured possession game but were up against the Jets who play a long kick and run style. As the game progressed the GEFC boys structure and discipline fell away, resulting in a scrappy game. Congratulations to Pelican on his goal and today's canteen vouchers went to Jake and James.... Shout-out and big thanks to Mia for representing our team and volunteering in the canteen each home game so the parents can support their kids on the sidelines.

21.01.2022 Gawler Eagles FC has marched on with an away 2 - 0 win over Adelaide University in the second elimination final to progress to the semi-final of the State League 2 season. The lads dominated large parts of the game, Benny Kovadio continuing his fine form from last week with a penalty kick from 25 yards to the top right corner of the net at the 39-minute mark. While his celebrations with the crowd earned him a yellow, he continued to create headaches for his opponents. A total... team effort from the Eagles who pressed forward at every chance with a number of goal opportunities, two shots grazing the wrong side of the woodwork. Speedster Brandon Scaffidi put the icing on the cake with a well placed running shot at the 75th. Next week Gawler Eagles FC plays off against Eastern United for the right to challenge Cobras in the grand final. Stay tuned. Go Eagles!

18.01.2022 We're in the finals! Our seniors and reserves will kick on in 2020 by making the top six after great team performances against Mount Barker at Karbeethan Reserve on Saturday. Our U18s got the ball rolling with an impressive display capping off a 4 - 0 victory. Kuaney moved up from defence to kick 3. Our reserves slugged out a tough 2 - 0 win. Our seniors took a little while to find their mojo but once they hit their stride they meted out a 10 - 0 win. Benny Kovadio kicked 4 to equal the Golden Boot with Aaron Acton from Eastern United (19 goals each). Congratulations, Benny! Aaron Westervelt kicked 3, Aaron Taylor and Christian Taylor adding singles (plus a Mount Barker own goal on a Kovadio deflection). The 1st team will play Modbury Vista at Wynn Vale, and our reserves will play Eastern United at Athelstone this Saturday.

The Gawler boys were simply superb and a class above, putting on an outstanding demonstration of possession and team first soccer. The energy and enjoyment was off the charts and that was also the same for the parents, family and friends supporting from the sidelines. Another super effort from Brayden in the goals with yet another clean sheet. Congratulations to our goal scorers J...osh, Thomas, Brody, Lachlan, Corban and Felix. 17.01.2022 Gawler Eagles FC is excited to introduce new senior coach, Andrew Burgess, to the club for 2021. Born in England and migrating to Australia in 1973, Andrew Burgess aspired to play and one day coach his much loved sport; football. As a prominent player both in his homeland and Australia, Andrew’s passion for the game continued to grow. Nurturing and developing upcoming players has always been at the forefront of his mission and creating a club culture of determination, success... and strong team spirit continues to guide his philosophy. Gawler Eagles FC president Joe Ridenti said Andrew is a great football asset and has already provided strong leadership off-field with an eye for detail and planning. As a senior coach Andrew has facilitated promotions from State League 2 to State League 1 for a few clubs and has been a part of some memorable games and player development throughout his coaching career. Andrew is excited about his appointment as senior coach of the Gawler Eagles and is looking forward to the 2021 season with great enthusiasm and optimism.

17.01.2022 Gawler Eagles' season has come to a close with a 3- 2 loss to Eastern United in the State League 2 semi-final at Athelstone Reserve Friday night. The lads worked hard with an impressive start, a Benny Kovadio cross found Brandon Scaffidi to score at the 22-minute mark. An entertaining game followed, Eastern equalising six minutes later. Just before half time Eastern scored again to lead 2 - 1. The second half was a see-saw of opportunities, Benny Kovadio scrambled through sev...eral defenders to equalise for Gawler. The game was up for grabs when Eastern capitalised again at 70 and held off the Eagles for the remainder of the match. Congratulations Eastern for the victory for a grand final berth and promotion to State League 1. Well deserved. To our lads, a remarkable effort to finish a respectable 3rd. While the season didn't go according to our dreams, rest assured this has been Gawler's most successful season in its history. To all our players and coaching staff we thank you. The club has some big announcements to make in the coming week. Look out 2021!

Unfortunately with limited positions available selection was very difficult. For those who were accepted, welcome aboard. For those who missed out, we wish you all the very best in your football journey and we hope to cross paths again.

15.01.2022 Not a good day at the office for Gawler Eagles FC away to Adelaide University. The Under 18s and Reserves had better days with a 4 - 0 and 5 - 1 loss respectively. The Seniors drew 2 - 2, Benny Kovadio scoring the brace at the 18th and 85th minute marks. Next week Gawler are back at home hosting Northern Demons from Port Pirie.

15.01.2022 Gawler Eagles FC has a better day at the office with the Seniors recording their first victory after a fortnight of draws. With no Northern Demons U18s team this season, it was the Reserves to get the ball rolling and a 2-2 draw. Jayden Bragg and Julian Kane scoring at home. The Seniors had an arm wrestle in their first half, a couple of ripper shots touched out by the keeper. Then a 20-minute burst after half time brought immediate results, Emmanuel Manirampa and Iradi Baragomwa both scoring. The game looked like petering out until the Demons grabbed some solace with a goals deep into time on for a 2 - 1 result. The win keeps Gawler Eagles in third spot on the SL2 ladder. Next week we travel to second-placed Modbury Vista for what will be a great clash on their new synthetic pitch.

15.01.2022 What another exciting game the Gawler lads performed yesterday coming away with a 2-0 win over a very good Adelaide University at University Oval. Next week we progress to the final round of semi finals playing Eastern United at Athelstone Recreation Reserve. All sport activity has been suspended for 2 weeks at the start of the COVID lockdown. As soon as we learn of any updates we'll let you know.... 13.01.2022 The Gawler Eagles FC Under 11s wish a HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all Dads and significant role models. Today the boys played at home, welcoming Salisbury United. The Gawler boys started slow, however as the game progressed they became more switched on, using their skills and pressure to pepper the goals and score regularly. In the rooms before the game, the boys spoke of how they wanted to try extra hard today and put on a great performance for all the Dads, which each one of... them certainly did. Lionel approached Vic the line marker guy yesterday morning and offered his services for the next two years in return for complimentary hot chips and a Coke. 11.01.2022 Two new faces join two regular faces as Gawler Eagles prepares for 2021. Key defenders Lionnel Muhitira and Zac Vannucci have re-committed and will be joined by Georgio Karakitsios and Sam Cook. Georgio is a 19-year-old striker from West Adelaide, while Sam is a 20-year-old right full back who came through Birkalla's juniors to play seniors before heading to West Adelaide now Gawler. We welcome Georgio and Sam to the Eagles!

09.01.2022 Gawler Eagles FC is proud to announce the senior coach team line-up for 2021 with Andrew Burgess. Senior Technical Director and assistant senior coach, Daniel Blanco, was born into a football family, his father is former Socceroo coach Raul Blanco. Daniel made his NSL debut at 17 with APIA Leichhardt and played in Sydney for 10 years. He has coached all age groups before moving back to Adelaide and coaching West Adelaide’s U18s for a premiership and championship, and reserves... grade for 2 top 6 finishes. Senior assistant coach Mario Caruso played junior and senior football at Adelaide City before embarking as player/coach at first division amateur level where he enjoyed success. Mario spent many years coaching junior football for boys and girls, then moved to senior women’s football before coaching men’s senior football for the past three years, two as reserves coach and one as reserves/senior assistant. Bill Davidson makes a return to Gawler as Reserves coach after a stint at Salisbury United. Bill is well known and respected in the North, starting at Elizabeth Vale and moving to Playford which included senior coaching. Now in his 26th year, Bill brings a wealth of experience and local knowledge to support developing players and looks forward to assisting players take their next step in their football journey. Under 18 coach Jason Hardy has an Aussie Rules background but is now a passionate soccer convert coaching juniors at Modbury Jets, Under 18s at Adelaide Victory, and U16s JPL at Olympic. He is passionate on junior development and assisting players make the transition from junior to senior football.

Iradi has been Captain for the past two seasons with a distinguished club tally of 84 games from 2017 to 2020, and 72 goals. Not bad for someone who started out as a defender! 07.01.2022 Benny is back! Actually the 2020 joint Golden Boot winner never left but he has recommitted to Gawler Eagles FC for 2021. Benny kicked 19 goals in the minor rounds and piled on another 3 goals in the finals to finish with 22 goals for the season. 2020 club best and fairest, Aaron Taye, will also continue in 2021 after a sensational year in the midfield. While he may be softly spoken, his leadership speaks volumes and senior coach Andrew Burgess is looking forward to having Aaron, and Benny, on the park. Go Eagles!

07.01.2022 What a game Friday night against Modbury Vista at their home ground. Gawler Eagles came to play and scored a hat-trick within the first 10 minutes courtesy of Iradi Baragomwa (2) and Benny Kovadio (1). The game was fitting of a final and both sides played great football, Vista clawing their way back into the game to trail 3 - 2 at half time. The second half was an arm wrestle and unfortunately for Gawler, luck was not on our side as multiple shots at goal refused to go our way. Vista snared two more goals at the scoring end to run out victors 4 - 3. The Reserves also experienced a loss as did the Under 18s who debuted four youngsters from the U15s who stepped up and did a great job. Well done, lads.

06.01.2022 GAWLER EAGLES FC MINI-ROOS COME 'N TRY U6 to U11s Wednesday December 2, 6 -7pm sharp Karbeethan Reserve... We're back in business. Come along to the Mini Roos Come 'N Try. Bring a water bottle and shin pads. All welcome. Just some housekeeping: 1) Players for Gawler Eagles in 2020 who have confirmed continuing in 2021 are not required to attend. This is to limit numbers re: COVID. We'll see you at registration day. 2) Players for Gawler Eagles in 2020 who have NOT confirmed continuing in 2021 are not automatically guaranteed a spot. 3) If you are attending or are new, you should arrive a little earlier to complete registration paperwork AND ensure you have downloaded the mySAgov app (the same one for drivers licences etc) for Covid scanning (details will be on Facebook as soon as we receive direction from SA Health). 4) There are limited number of spots available for most teams. Attendance does not guarantee a spot in 2021. 5) Registration Day also includes kit fitting. This is not during Come 'N Try. 05.01.2022 They might be small but were proud of our Under 6s. Gawler Eagles FC has two U6 teams and were happy to say that U6 Blue had their first win over the weekend. We know results and scores dont matter at this age but well make a small exception as the kids have trained really hard over the year and they were really excited, probably nearly as excited as their parents. Our U6 Yellow played really well too in their game and had lots of chances but were happy to have a run nonetheless. Well done, kids!

03.01.2022 Congratulations to Gawler Eagles players Jett, Lachlan and James who have all made the FFSA SAP squad. The boys are currently training three nights a week with FFSA coaches and learning some great skills that will improve their development further. 03.01.2022 Gawler Eagles FC celebreates a 3 - 1 win over Modbury Vista in an State League 2 elimination final at Wynn Vale on Saturday afternoon. The lads came out to play and revelled on the new synthetic pitch creating havoc for Vista. Benny Kovasio opened the account with a clever goal at the 20-minute mark. Our defenders, lead by vice-captain Christian Taylor and keeper Freeman Johnson held the back together while Benny and Brandon Scaffidi used pure pace to give a few headaches for... the opposition. Kovadio scored true just after half time before Machochi was red-carded for a professional foul leaving Gawler one man down for the last 20 minutes. Thankfully a Vista player received his marching orders for a second yellow which levelled the playing field allowing Kovadio and our midfield to find space before Vice captain Christian Taylor put the last hurrah in the back of the net in time-on. Overall a great team performance and one Gawler should be proud of. Next Saturday Adelaide University play host to Gawler in another do-or-die clash worth watching. Go Eagles!

03.01.2022 The U17 girls celebrated a 2-1 win against Modbury Jets Sunday morning with a polished performance that made coach Phil very proud. The girls dominated play and shared the workload across the pitch and had many more shots at goal including hitting the woodwork on three occasions. A great team effort.
