23.01.2022 What a gem! Old Saab 9000 in for a very bad coolant leak from the heater core, lucky the engineers at Saab had the forethought to put drain tubes in the heater box so that leaking coolant doesn’t go into the cabin and soak the carpet! Needed a couple of hoses as well and thermostat and radiator. The owner has had this car since new and was told by the previous mechanic parts weren’t available for the cooling system, however at GAW we have a network of over 150 suppliers Australia wide and are experienced in sourcing hard to find parts.

18.01.2022 A nice E class W210 in the shop, originally a breakdown in customers driveway. However it was going to be to fiddly a job to do there, so limped it back to the shop. Car was locked in park, and was able to manually put it into gear. Customer had unfortunately left the sunroof open and water had got into the gear shifter and the second pic illustrates the water damage in the electronics. We sent away the electronics to an electronics specialist and while waiting for that we ...fixed an oil leak from the harness connector on the Auto, which was leaking into the wiring harness, while oil in electrical circuits doesn’t do as much damage as water, it still does damage and interfere with the sensitive electronics in the 722.6 Automatic, and both issues can cause similar symptoms. The car is now repaired and driving as it should, if you have an old Mercedes-Benz and are looking for a passionate and honest repairer call Rod from GAW.

07.01.2022 Spectacularly cool and clean W124 Merc for a service, brakes and a few other odds and ends. Really enjoyed working on this car and also meeting its owner! Thanks so much Tom!

06.01.2022 Final touches on the bug motor, the dual Kadron Carburettors needed a good clean out from sitting around for quite a few years, had to pull them apart because the accelerator pumps were both blocked. Rest of wiring was finished off is now running sweet!
