23.01.2022 Acknowledgement of Country From staff, parents and community We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which our Kindergarten is located, the Turrbal people, and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. We also pay respects to Elders - past, present and emerging.... From our children (below)

23.01.2022 As part of Earth Day 2020, the children in the Pre-Prep A room were given clay to play with. Natural resources were added to the clay - sticks, leaves, gumnuts, stones, seed pods. The children loved the different textures and each created their own clay garden. We also collaborated together and made a larger clay sculpture garden. Natural materials, such as bark, sticks and leaves, can be used in a wide range of ways in playtime to promote wonder and curiosity while learning.... As children explore and collect natural materials they are able to actively investigate scientific concepts, while being imaginative and creative. Benefits of Working With Clay The process of working with this natural material to create a unique clay project supports personalised learning, sensory development, fine motor skills, self esteem, self expression, problem solving skills, discipline and pride in a child. Teaching our children to love our earth and all its natural resources

04.01.2022 Some of our Pre Prep Children had wonderful things to say about their Mums Enjoy xx I love my Mum and she loves me. She makes my dinner. I love my Mum because she lets me watch tv. She cooks us pizza with pineapple. She puts bracelets on her ears and pretends they are ear-rings, she makes me laugh!... I love my Mummy because she sometimes takes me to a cafe, I ate baby pancakes there. My Mummy is a pretty girl, she wears pretty dresses and stuff. I love my Mummy because she jumps on the trampoline with me and my brothers. She wears beautiful clothes and she looks beautiful. My Mum gives me hugs and they make me feel good. I love my Mummy because she puts red lipstick on, she looks beautiful like shes going to a restaurant. She sews skirts and dresses for me, I love them! She has black eyelashes and she has big feet. Her eyes are brown, she goes to the hairdressers. I love my Mummy because she helps me bake cakes and she makes me laugh. Mummy is so beautiful, she wears her jumper when she is cold. She is very, very, very hilarious! I love my Mummy because she makes my lunch. She cooks cupcakes and she tickles me. My Mum loves plants!

03.01.2022 With Anzac Day being tomorrow, here is a simple craft idea you can do with your children to help them understand and honour Anzac Day. Discussing ANZAC Day with children ensures that stories about Australias heroes and history are passed down to younger generations at a time when they are actively interested and engaged. Through discussing the history behind Anzac Day, young children come to better understand the value and need for peace. It also enhances their understanding of space (through discussing other countries), culture and identity. If children dont understand everything this year, thats fine its a big concept to get your head around. Keep up the traditions and conversations and each year they will understand more. https://laughingkidslearn.com/red-memorial-poppy-craft-usi/
