19.01.2022 TIME TO STAND, APPLAUD, ADMIRE AND BE INSPIRED. Thank you for joining us tonight, on this very special occasion, as we stop to applaud and acknowledge all cance...r survivors. We can’t find any platform that recognises our cancer survivors collectively and we are proud to offer you this platform for you to send some wonderful messages to those who make us proud. Our cancer survivors give optimism to those just diagnosed and give us confidence that the fight against cancer is one that can be won. They are indeed our symbol of hope. Whether diagnosed in recent times or decades ago, thank you for the inspiration you are. In the 1980’s, the cancer survival rate was less than 50%. Today, almost seven in 10 Australians will survive for at least five years after a cancer diagnosis and in some cancers the survival is as high as 90% It is estimated that there are currently over 1.1 million Australians with a personal history of cancer. To take part is simple and is for everyone, everywhere. Simply leave a message with the names of those awesome cancer survivors who are special to you, It doesn’t matter how many times a survivor is acknowledged and how many times you comment. If you are a survivor and want to share your message that too is very welcome. Once again thanks to our incredible survivors and we wish ongoing good health, and thank you for being involved. HOPE it lives in survivors everywhere.

10.01.2022 TO SUPPORTERS OF GRIFFITH BREAST CANCER SUPPORT GROUP Just a few words to let you know how we spend your kind donations We: Pay for the purchase of wigs for clients who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy. Help with medical expenses not covered by private health funds and Medicare .... Purchase compression garments for people with lymph edema if they are not covered by government funds. We have also helped our local Breast Care Nurse who has been trained by the McGrath Foundation. We are also an Accociate Member of Breast Cancer Network Australia. We have a policy that at least three Executive Members must make a decision on assistance or we take applications to a general meeting. No one member can make a decision on help for people. We assist men who need help, as well as women. We Thank you for your kind donations over the years as this enables us to continue our work in the local community. See more
