22.01.2022 A consequence of many industrial processes is the generation of waste heat. Energy in the form of heat is a versatile resource to have on hand if the means exist to convert that energy into another more useable form. Heat that is not reutilised by a system is most often lost to atmosphere.

21.01.2022 A new evaporative condenser installation to expand the refrigeration system of a large smallgoods facility, bolstering their total plant capacity to an impressive 20MW. 15.01.2022 Gordon Brothers has successfully completed another dairy distribution centre in Queensland. The client’s brief was to refrigerate their cold store with an energy efficient option where ammonia was contained within the plantroom and propylene glycol was sent out into the field. Gordon Brothers, with our industry leading experience with low-charge ammonia, designed, built, and installed an energy efficient, low impact system that ensured the client could successfully operate to their energy and environmental requirements.

This is inclusive of compressor packages, heat exchangers, pressure vessels and electrical control equipment. Configurations and heat load capacities vary greatly depending on the needs of the site, but systems over 500kW are well within the capability of such a plant

The big power savings will come in summer peak production , as the com...pressors as well as the new condenser will be consuming significantly less power due to the increase in effective heat rejection capacity resulting in lower head pressure for the compressors and the modern condenser itself consuming far less relative power of the old condenser it supersedes. 06.01.2022 Ammonia based refrigeration plants are exceptionally well suited for industrial sites, as the volatility of ammonia is so readily taken advantage of to suit both heating and cooling requirements. Unfortunately, there are also some unfavourable characteristics which must be addressed in order to ensure the system remains reliable and effective. Ingress of foreign substances to the system can have a variety of effects on components, but all share the commonality of a decrease in performance.
