17.01.2022 NINJA OF THE MONTH: Jack Pummeroy Congratulations to JP on being the GBOT Ninja of the Month. Jack trains in our Teen Ninja class and often attends our adult Obstacle Training sessions, too.... Over the lockdown periods, Jack has participated in several of our Virtual Challenges, including The Endurathon, The 100km Run & The Centurion. We asked Jack a few questions: What are your future goals in fitness & Ninja? I would like to complete a tough mudder, I was supposed to do one of these this year but it got cancelled. I would also like to enter in a spartan event. Thanks to the GBOT 100km virtual run, I have been running so now I would like to get my 3km time under 12 minutes. I was due to compete in the Australian Nationals which got cancelled(thanks Covid) I am looking forward to getting back into ninja training so competitions can start running again. What is your favourite exercise & favourite obstacle? Favorite exercise is probably push ups! Favorite is obstacle is the rings and lacheing and warped wall, I can't decide!! What’s the best thing about GBOT? I love the obstacles and the friendly faces! I miss training at GBOT so can't wait for it to be back open again. Well done Jack. 15.01.2022 TERM 4 NINJA CLASS UPDATE. Hey crew. Here is an update on our return to Ninja classes, at GBOT.... Under the current guidelines, Gyms won’t be able to open, until the final stage of restrictions are eased. So, really, we have no set date yet..... We anticipate this could be anywhere from mid October to late November...and as you know, things can change very quickly in the current environment. As soon as we can open, we will open. 15.01.2022 FAMILY FUN CHALLENGE Our Family Fun Challenge, starts on Saturday. It involves 12 Fun challenges, over 30 days.... We guarantee laughs. Families work together, as a team, with the ultimate reward, being a team trophy. We welcome THE WILDE WARRIORS. Here’s their intro: Introducing the Wilde Warriors, for our first GBOT family challenge. Dad and the kids are veterans of Spartan races including the kids races, but with Obstacle Course racing off the table in Victoria this year, we’re looking for a challenging, yet fun team based activity. We’re also hoping to earn some more GBOT bling. Our teenage daughter is experienced in netball and gymnastics when younger, but has been doing the occasional HIIT in the garage with Dad during lockdown. The twin 12 year olds usually play football and cricket but have tried and loved Muay Thai via Zoom to keep active during lockdown. Great to have you on board Wilde Warriors! 14.01.2022 Last night in our 4.30pm Master Class, the Coaches set our Ninjas a Planking Challenge. Last Ninja standing (planking) would be crowned Plank Master.... All of our Ninjas performed admirably and many planked for over 4-5 minutes. However, 2 Ninjas kept on planking and at the 13 minute mark, Callan finally dropped, allowing Ewan to drop 5 seconds later and take the coveted of Plank Master. Jensen has scored a Ghanda voucher and the rare, GBOT Ninja of the Month, Band Jensen fell off the Monkey Bars early, in a recent Band Grading and missed out on getting his Band. Since then, he has been very determined, when training on the Monkey Bars and has improved a lot. His determination and positive attitude, is what we like to see. Jensen listens to his Coaches, is respectful of other Ninja’s and is building his confidence more and more, every class.
