For sport and recreation to continue on the Gold Coast we need to provide a safe space for our participants and spectators.... Whilst there are a number of new restrictions on gatherings, the Chief Health Officer advises that at this stage, community sport can continue provided Industry COVID Safe Plans are adhered to. In regards to the current COVID situation in South East Queensland and in the lead up to tomorrows round 6 fixtures, I would like to remind all Member Clubs, Players, Officials, Volunteers and Spectators to please continue to adhere to the following: 1. Ensure you are operating and adhering to a COVID Safe Plan and that hygiene and sanitisation practices are implemented. 2. Continue promoting if you are unwell you should not participate or attend a venue. 3. Public Health Units across the State as well as Queensland Police have the ability to check-in and request information surrounding your club or association compliance any time. 4. Liaise with Gold Coast Baseball and Baseball Queensland regarding training and fixtures and keep up to date with ongoing advice. 5. As you are aware, contact tracing is being undertaken and it is recommended that people who were present at identified public contact tracing locations at the relevant times monitor their health and, if they develop even the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms then they should get tested. https://www.qld.gov.au//cor/current-status/contact-tracing https://www.qld.gov.au//stay-inf/testing-and-fever-clinics It is also recommended that any person in this situation to not attend any activities where physical distancing is not able to be maintained until they complete the self-assessment quiz or gain advice from a public health official.
