25.01.2022 Pre-event ticket sales are now available via this app! Whilst tickets will be available at the door, if you know you’re coming then it’s advisable to book your space prior to the event as there’s a limit of 500 people allowed in the barn at any one time (covid restrictions). Your tickets guarantee you admission on the day. Click on the app to purchase your tickets - $10 family of four, $5 for singles.

14.01.2022 A reminder you need to bring your guinea pigs to the Pig Day Out in a suitable secure carrier. We have these secondhand carriers available for sale for $5 to $15. Can be purchased from the shelter tomorrow or during the week by arrangement ~ Alex

08.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE PIG DAY OUT GUINEA PIG JUDGING COMPETITION! These are the categories for the 2021 Pig Day Out Guinea Pig Judging Competition. Cutest Male... Cutest Female Cutest Male Pair Cutest Female Pair Cutest Pair Male/Female (one must be desexed) Best Male Short Hair Best Female Short Hair Best Male Long Hair Best Female Long Hair Male Cutest Butt Female Cutest Butt Male Cutest Face Female Cutest Face Male Cutest Lips Female Cutest Lips Craziest Hair POSH PIGGY COMPETITION Posh Piggy Best Male Posh Piggy Best Female Posh Piggy Best Pair Posh Piggy Best Group There are certificates for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category, and a small prize for 1st place getters. Categories will be judged in the order listed so if your category is near the top of the list we ask that you arrive at the venue as early as possible (doors open at 8.30am) to fill out your registration forms which will be available at the registration table on the day. Entry is $2 for each category. You can enter as many categories as you like. Payment is by cash only so don’t forget to bring notes and coins! Certificates will be presented on stage after each category. The competition will begin at 10am. We don’t want any guinea pigs to suffer in the name of entertainment so for all those entering the Posh Piggy comp, costumes must be loose fitting and easy to put on and take off. Dress your piggy up just prior to your category and remove costume as soon as the judging is finished. Please supply a small mat or towel for your guinea pig to sit on at the competition table. All guinea pigs must be brought to the event in a suitable secure carrier. Please bring a water bottle, food and hay so your piggies don’t get hungry and thirsty. Small playpens may be brought along with towels or fleece blankets to go on the floor. A hidey house or two is also a good addition. Don’t worry if you come without one as we’ll have lots of new and secondhand plastic domes for sale on the day, and new wooden tunnels. Please don’t allow your guinea pigs to mix with other peoples’ piggies as this may result in fighting, or worse still - copulating!! 06.01.2022 How cute are these little houses The kits are supplied by our friends at Oxbow and are a feature on the PDO children’s activity table. As usual the main event of the day is the Guinea Pig Judging Competition so I hope you’re all busy getting your piggies ready to strut their stuff Stands attending this year are Squeakyware, Alison Rowntree’s Mintie N Friends Lethal Awareness, and Oxbow. And of course GCGPR It’s going to be a fabulous FUN day, made all the more special by the fact we missed out last year!
