18.01.2022 Congratulations to our Gold Coast Power Boat & Sports Club Inc members who competed over 2 weekends (Unlimited Displacement and 6 Litre) and at the 2nd round (4.2 Litre) in the USA vs Australia Bad Boat Challenge. We appreciate that your teams travelled great distances to compete and worked hard to have your boats prepared for 2 action packed weekends. We are very proud of your achievements and the excitement you gave to us as the spectator to showcase your talents in powerbo...at racing either in person or via the live streaming (thanks Sportsfilm)! Competing in the 4.2 Litre Displacement class - Evil Angel (Krystal Arthy), 2nd overall for the Round 2 Berri weekend. Go the girls! 6 Litre Displacement - Image (Craig Lewis) and Hostage (Rod Peterson) raced hard over both weekends to make the A and B finals at Berri, with Image placing 4th (A final) and Hostage 2nd (B final). Well done guys! Unlimited Displacement - Convict (Laith Brown), Airborne (Alf Ebborn) and Decision (Brent Lewis). All three competitors were amazing over the 2 weekends, with very close and competitive racing. In the end all THREE made the final of the world championships, with Decision placing 1st and Convict 2nd. Commisserations to Airborne who did not finish unfortunately as he was hit at the first corner. Well done to all of you, we were in awe of your racing and determination to keep going. Convict (Laith Brown) was invited to race in the final race of the day - the King of the River. He continued on his racing brillance placing 2nd in the King of the River. We have nothing to say, but WOW, watch out everyone else and we recognised your talents first as a junior at Lockyer Powerfest 2011. :-) Finally, well done to all racing competitors (especially the Americans who made the effort to come all the way), their crews, volunteers and organisers (UHPBC and RPBC) for the livestreaming of fantastic racing over two weekends of the best of the best in powerboat racing. We are particularly super proud of our Gold Coast Power Boat & Sports Club Inc members, who showed everyone that Queenslanders never give up! We look forward to the next event!! Kind Regards Susan Lewis GCPBSC Inc - Secretary
