24.01.2022 Just another reminder that tomorrow is a Public Holiday! Originally, the public holiday was meant to be on Friday 28th August for the Gold Coast Show. However it has been moved to tomorrow to line up with the Public Holiday in Brisbane, in hope to create a nice long weekend for many families. We hope all of our families enjoy this long weekend with their loved ones! Stay safe

23.01.2022 National Volunteer Week GCRS greatly appreciates each and every volunteer for their time they dedicate to us and our participants! A special shout out to our Sailing volunteers (including those who are self-isolating) for their ongoing support through Covid-19. Thank you for your positivity, enthusiasm and commitment :) ... Sailing has always been one of the favourites, so to be able to continue such a meaningful activity through this time has been so appreciated! A huge thank you again!

20.01.2022 For our families and participants who don't know already, Mardi, our beautiful Relaxation teacher passed away last week. Today we say goodbye and remember Mardi's gentle reflections that helped all of us involved in her Wednesday afternoon program over the past 25 years. Mardi will forever be a part of our lives, her special qualities will live on in all of the lives she has touched. She will forever remain an icon here at GCRS

16.01.2022 A big shout out to our dedicated runners who braved the cold and dark to complete the Anzac Dark to Dawn 11km run. The run started at 1am (yes you read that right!) and finished at 5am with the Dawn Service and traditional Gunfire breakfast. We were incredibly proud of the boys conduct, dedication and respect shown throughout the event. A huge thank you to Daniel Ramage for organising the morning.

10.01.2022 What a game! We went along to the Southport Sharks VFL game on the weekend and felt like part of the team. We were welcomed by all the players and excited to see them walk away with a win! GCRS is so privileged to be supported by The Mermaid Beach Rotary Club who received the Torch on Wednesday at our Sports House location in Varsity Lakes. We would like to thank the Mermaid Beach Rotary Club immensely for their past, present and ongoing support!

07.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder.. GCRS will be closed on Thursday 10th September as per the calendar issued at the start of 2020. Unfortunately there will be no Athletics Carnival, however we will be using this day for staff development. It has been a very eventful year, the staff are looking forward to spending the day together to reset, grow and be ready for the last quarter of the year.... Thank you so much to all of our participants and families for your understanding and support, knowing how important staff development days are!

07.01.2022 We are so lucky to partner with some amazing community venues. A big thank you to Little Beautifuls Farm and Harmony Hooves for allowing our participants to meet some very playful baby goats! Our participants are always sharing stories of Bam Bam, Maple, Onyx, Buddie & Hollie!

If we thought about, given the year it’s been, we should’ve anticipated an end like this. ... Our goal like every other day is to get our participants home safely. United Through Sports is an alliance of many organisations around the world, working together through sports to bring unity and peace to an often-divided world.
