19.01.2022 Global Surf Cities Conference 2013 - destination, innovation, and collaboration The Gold Coast will play host to the first Global Surf Cities Conference in the days prior to the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Surf Events on 28 February and 1 March 2013. The aim is to bring together leading surf city representatives from around the world and around Australia to hear from speakers in the themes of surf business, innovation in surf, surf tourism, coastal management, surf city governa...nce and more. The keynote address will discuss the findings of the Benchmarking Global Best Practice, Innovation and Leadership in Surf City Tourism, a study currently being undertaken by the Gold Coast Surf City committee, who are facilitating the Conference. Two major aims of the Conference are to establish a platform for networking among surf cities so as to develop globally sustainable surf industries and to development frameworks for international collaboration in surf industry education, employment and global career mobility. A trade show will also take place, giving surfcraft manufacturers the opportunity to showcase their products to a global audience. See more

The winds are light and variable offshore early, theyre forecast to go strong WSW, but I think they will go around to the NW as they strengthen later this morning. The tide is high at 8.30am.
