11.01.2022 Sweetmeats and Coffee "This represents a brunch or morning tea, in her favourite media and using a palette of blues and her favourite crockery. Feasting and entertaining were a great passion of Margaret's, where the preparing of meals was as important as creating artworks. It was not unusual for many artists and friends to gather for luncheons that were many days in preparation." ( Britt Clapson, daughter)

08.01.2022 The drawn text element in A poem for a Dog and a French Poet comes from the 3rd verse of the poem Fleurs du mal by Charles Baudelaire (1821 - 1867) Sors-tu du gouffre noir ou descends-tu des astres? Le Destin charmé suit tes jupons comme un chien; Tu sèmes au hasard la joie et les désastres, Et tu gouvernes tout et ne réponds de rien.... Woodwards’s father Dr Woodward was a Lecturer in French at Sydney University. Exhibition runs until 12 December 2020
