15.01.2022 More acknowledgment of a fantastic season for GCU coach Alex Bundalo with today’s announcement of his appointment as the Head Coach to lead the Football Queensland and State Team Women’s squad during the upcoming Kappa #FestivalofFootball. An excited Bundalo confirmed that he’s looking forward to the challenge and with the players we‘ve got there’s no reason we cannot beat the opponents, and that will be the objective. I think this Festival of Football is a highlight at th...e end of the year and one to grow and promote over the next three years in the build-up to the FIFA Women’s World Cup." I’m just looking forward to working with that calibre of coach and sharing ideas for the benefit of the game in our state. Alex will be joined by Lions FC Coach, Rob Askew, as his assistant and both will be drawing on the experience of the State Technical Director Gabor Ganczer and FQ’s QAS Coach Mentor Rae Dower during the festival. Congratulations Alex, well deserved! Read the full Media Release at this link bit.ly/3nRKSEo

14.01.2022 Pick of the pics from last nights Football Queensland Rd14 match between Gold Coast United FC & Olympic FC. Another exciting match at Coplicks with the visitors prevailing in a closely fought tussle thanks to Daniel Lecks first half goal. Sam Smith earned another GCU Player of the Match award, his battle with AJ Fetahagic one of the many intriguing match-ups.... At either end the shot-stoppers stood tall. Aidan Munford producing another penalty save to deny Leck from the spot and Lachlan Hunter impressive between the sticks for the visitors. s Craig Clifford @sportspics.photography More on GCUs Flickr https://www.flickr.com/gp/goldcoastunitedfc/qjF21Y

09.01.2022 Here's how the Ladies line-up at Coplicks today, their last league outing for 2020. Good luck, enjoy it!
09.01.2022 Great game to round out the Clubs R U OK Day fundraising and awareness weekend, an end to end affair that saw Eastern Suburbs FC previal 3-2 in a thriller against Gold Coast United FC at Coplicks in Rd12 Football Queensland #NPLW action yesterday. There was plenty of attractive football on display from both sides in a high tempo affair. The games only low-lights were unfortunate leg injuries to key United players, Momo & Dani Wise. All of us at the club, and across Womens... football circles are hoping for the best for both Ladies. It was Uniteds young brigade who stepped up in the absence of Momo & Dani. Anabelle Gibsons tireless performance, first at the back and then further forward, earned her a deserved Player of the Match for the home side. In the centre of the park Charlie Farmer once again showed her maturity against a fairly formidable Easts midfield. And Paige Taylors contribution off the bench was big, bagging Uniteds opening goal and getting stuck in to disrupt the Easts defence and create opportunities for herself and her fellow attackers. Hold your heads very high Ladies, a committed team effort to the end stands you in a very good place for the rest of the season. 08.01.2022 Fantastic news for the Club with Football Queensland yesterday announcing that Gold Coast United FC is one of the first Queensland clubs to receive our FQ Club Shield which visually outlines a club’s National Club Development Program (NCDP) classification, Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) rating and Youth Academy rating. It is with much please that we can confirm our ongoing Gold status in 2021 in both the SAP and Youth Academy phases. The announcement is due recognition of a lo...t of hard work from a lot of people led from the front by Technical Director, Craig Midgley and the football department, all coaches and assistants. In the back end a big ups to Director of Operations, Mark Anderson & General Manager, Rob Morris, for their efforts in the process. Lots of work still to do as we work towards an NCDP classification, onwards and upwards. We are United! 08.01.2022 Inclusion in the Football Queensland 2020 #NPL Team of the Year caps a fine season in yellow and blue for goalkeeper Aidan Munford. The shot-stopper was consistently among the Men’s best, producing a string of crucial saves at important times. Well in Aido! Strong representation of GCU players in the #NPLW Team of the Year. Central defenders Ellie Fryer & Momo Hayashi go back to back in the select XI, what a pair, and are joined in the 2020 Team of the Year by Eash Norrie, w...ho bossed the midfield. 07.01.2022 Not our night in the derby.
06.01.2022 Solid performances last night from both the U23 and Men’s squads as they build nicely into their seasons. Plenty to like for Men’s coach Grae Piddick including goals from a variety of players and to see some of the aspects we've worked on so far come to life. It’s also really pleasing to see us keep a clean sheet and that we limited the opposition to minimal opportunities.... The boys are working hard which is great so we will be looking to continue to build each week. Last night was another opportunity for a number of under 23s to get first team minutes, something Piddick believes will stand the Men's squads in good stead as the season unfolds. They’re showing their ability to step up when asked which will be important this year. Having a bigger squad capable to play senior football will be a strength for us this year I think. Big thanks to Robina City FC for hosting, best of luck in your season. Up up up the Rabbits! ’s Kyoko

04.01.2022 This week is NAIDOC week which celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples. GCU Men travel to Ballinger Park for the ‘Battle of the Coasts’ tomorrow where hosts, Sunshine Coast Wanderers Football Club, are playing their part to acknowledge indigenous contribution to football. There’ll be a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony as well as other planned activities. Gold Coast United too acknowledges the significance and importance ...of this celebration, the sleeves of our jerseys have been adorned with a badge of recognition, kindly donated by the good people at GIOCA, for this weekend’s Indigenous Jersey round. The club also acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land upon which we walk in our daily lives and in particular the land upon which we train and play our football, Coplicks Family Sports Park. The traditional owners of the Tallebudgera area were the Tulgingin people and it is said that in local language Tallebudgera means good fish, derived from talle meaning fish and budgerie meaning good. Always was, always will be.
