06.01.2022 Gday All First of all, Hide and I would like to thank all of our customers and friends for your business and your help over the past few years. Your smiling faces make this all the harder an announcement to make... Due to the unbelievably bad weather we have had for over 2 years now - along with the Global Financial Crisis that has killed Australian Tourism and Aussie spending in general, we find that we can no longer continue to support our business venture. In other words..., Gday Bike Tours is no longer running tours and will close down effective immediately. Both Hide and I have input our own blood, sweat and tears (not to mention the money) and worked in the business for over 3 years without pay - although we have managed to do a lot of riding and had a few free lunches... As most of you would know, we both lost our day-jobs a while back and we hoped to make a living from the tour business, but this was not to be. As far as starting the business was concerned, we just couldn't have timed things worse than we did... The business has shown great potential in the last 12 months, with tour inquiries and bookings up dramatically, but as they say, double nothing is nothing. Seriously though, while the business is successful and could pay it's own way, it just doesn't earn enough for both of us to live on. If running a bike tour business interests you, make me an offer, it may be yours for the right price. We are now selling the bikes off one-at-a-time. If you want to buy a Sporty, keep an eye on our ebay page. Once all the Sporty's are sold I will list the Softail - but don't expect it to sell for peanuts... There are a few outstanding pre-paid tour vouchers that have not been claimed yet. I will contact those people with unclaimed vouchers and arrange a refund for them over the next week. I will post a link to the first 2010 Sporty on ebay in my next wall post. The first bike being sold is the Black one - it's a good bike and it looks nice - I would ride this one for sure. I would probably whack a set of SE slip-ons on it though, it's just a bit too quiet for me. 04.01.2022 Looks like someone is going to get a cheap Sporty. Only 1 day to go with no bids yet, and $6,000.00 no reserve... Currently 27 people watching and over 400 views - someone has to make a bid sooner or later I guess. I have had a couple of phone calls and a few emails (as well as some really silly offers that I haven't been bothered to reply to). I guess that, as usual with Ebay, all the serious bidding will probably happen in the last 10 minutes anyway....... Oh, I've added a video of the bike to the Ebay item - took the video about a year ago, but it allows a bit of a closer look as well as being able to hear it running.
