20.01.2022 Along with you, we have watched today’s announcement regarding Victoria’s Roadmap for Reopening. Whilst there is no clear announcement regarding the return of ...community netball in regional or metropolitan areas we will pay close attention to the trigger points for easing restrictions and continue to consult with Sport and Recreation Victoria. We do have something to strive for. Let’s keep doing the right thing, and together work towards the return of community netball. For now, stay safe and please, reach out, check-in and stay connected to your team mates. Victoria, we’ve got this.

19.01.2022 It's R U OK?Day, a reminder that every day is a day to start a conversation that could change a life. Today we're calling on Australians to learn what to say af...ter R U OK? so they can keep the conversation going when someone says they're not OK. There's more to say after R U OK? Learn what to say when listening with an open mind Learn what to say when encouraging action Learn what to say when checking in Learn how to continue a conversation that could change a life. When we know what to say next we can help someone open up and find pathways to support long before they're in crisis. Learn what to say next and help us move closer to our vision of a world where we're all connected and are protected from suicide. Head to www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask

17.01.2022 LADIES, ITS TIME FOR NETBALL CHANGEROOMS You can help build a better club for the future - Donate Now ! Help us make our vision a reality by making a genero...us tax deductible donation today at our newly created fund raising site with our partners the Australian Sports Foundation at https://asf.org.au/projects/belmont-lions-sports-club/ We would also appreciate it if you could share this link with your personal recommendation to support us too your friends and family via your social media. What's it about you ask? During this unprecedented period across the world, the club has taken some time to take stock of 'why we exist and our core purpose', which is to provide equitable access to grassroots sport across our culturally diverse community. In recent years our grassroots club has been hugely successful in growing participation in both our senior and junior netball sides fielding all 7 netball grades; as well as all 9 football sides. However we need to do better to support our female members with over 100 participating on match days. Why ? - There are no dedicated change facilities during the cold winter months and only a small portable shed (with no showers) located in the car park, which is clearly inadequate. The leaders of the club have reflected on this and have decided to set a positive strategic imperative, with an ambitious target to deliver a fully funded, 'shovel ready' build program within the next Three years. This is despite the serious short term challenges the club is facing this year with the lack of normal income coming through the door. We are determined to raise at least $100,000 over the next 2-3 years as our contribution to this ambitious and exciting project. Based on earlier concept drawings known as "Stage Two", it's anticipated that the overall project could cost up to $800k. It's also planned to leverage the upgrades to further increase female participation with the introduction of at least two new female football teams in coming seasons. We will achieve this by working, as we have in the past, in partnership with our club members, local communities, local businesses, corporate partners and government bodies, including the strong partnership we have with the COGG. Bigger and better things are coming..
