19.01.2022 piggy-back or double adaptor connections can cause overloading and can occur if too many appliances are connected to power point outlets designed for only one or two plugs. Use only one power board with in-built safety devices per power point outlet to avoid a power outlet overload.

19.01.2022 For people that are unaware of a major recall for Infinity cable. In August 2014, Infinity electrical cables were recalled by 18 electrical retailers and wholesalers due to safety concerns. The cables were supplied in:... : NSW - 2010-2013 : ACT - 2011-2013 : VIC, QLD, SA and WA - 2012-2013 : Tasmania - 2013. It is estimated that up to 40,000 homes, commercial and residential buildings in Australia could be affected. To date, 27 suppliers have announced recalls of Infinity cables. Further recalls may be announced in the future. Within Queensland alone there was 680kms of Infinity cable sold. What can you do ? You can have your wiring checked by a licensed electrician if, between 2010 and 2013, you: : purchased a new property : renovated : had electrical work done, including appliance installations. If you are unsure who did the electrical work, talk to your builder. If you dont know who the builder was and are unsure if Infinity cables were installed, get a licensed electrician to inspect your wiring. Do not attempt to inspect cables yourself.

16.01.2022 SAFETY TIP: Keep electrical appliances, their cords and any extension leads away from water. Ensure cords are in good condition if theyre worn or frayed, dont use the appliance or lead until its been repaired by a licensed electrician.
