25.01.2022 The big radial for the 1/32 Skyraider, ready for paint.

19.01.2022 Another commission build I’m working on is Trumpeter’s 1/32 A-1D Skyraider. I’m using eduards Big Ed set on it. The pictures show some progress on the undercarriage bays. Time consuming & fiddly, but worth it.

18.01.2022 Starting to get some colour on the Superliner log jinker. Some detail painting to follow, then the weathering phase

17.01.2022 I’m starting the weathering of the Superliner log jinker. It’s a messy process, but simple to do

16.01.2022 I’m also getting the Neptune well on the way to being finished, I’m highlighting the panel lines & rivets with a dark blue/grey wash.

15.01.2022 I’m slowly getting to the finish line with the Lancaster. Undercarriage/bomb bay doors are now fitted. Once the bombs are in, most of the details will disappear!. I’m waiting on some brass gun barrels to turn up, I’ve got resin ones, which look great, but are easily snapped off. The brass ones are so much better & have great detail

14.01.2022 I’m getting this Mack Cruiseliner built, I’m slowly checking fit of the Auslowe conversion, to make this an Australian spec Cruiseliner.

13.01.2022 Some progress on the M983, good job I like working with brass & photo etch

09.01.2022 I’m well overdue on finishing the Superliner jinker. I’ve got the wheels all fitted up & brackets painted on all of the mudguards, next the weathering will start.

09.01.2022 I’ve got some more detail painting done & added a few more bits to the big Tyhpoon. I need to fill some ejector pin marks in what will be the gun bays, before I can move on & I’m still doing some selected detail painting & enhancing with washes on some areas

07.01.2022 Work continues on the Superliner, just working on the weathering. Just progress pics atm. The good thing is, you can adjust the weathering as you go along, take too much off, just reapply some more onto it. I work in stages & then, stop. Work on something else, then look at it again, with fresh eyes. It’s time consuming & it plays not to rush. This isn’t completed yet, still very much in progress.

07.01.2022 This is a big project, with some photo etch to be fitted. It’s going to take awhile! Particularly when this is only half of the project, I’ve got the radar system & Hemtt to do as well

06.01.2022 I’m part way through fitting all the actuator arm, balance weights. They need a lick of paint & some minor touch ups needed here & there, getting closer

06.01.2022 I’m slowly getting all the fiddly bits finished off & ready to fit onto the Lancaster. They’ll need a lick of paint & some blending in, then fit them on.

06.01.2022 Just a reminder of the Superliner log jinker’s cab & bonnet. I’ve had this done for awhile. I’ve airbrushed the clear coat recently, to seal everything in. Now I’ll let it harden, before a polish.

05.01.2022 I’ve started work on the Mack Cruiseliner, using the AMT kit & modifying it to an Australian version, using Auslowe’s conversion kit. All the resin parts have been washed & some building has started. Lots of clean up to do on these old kits, but well worth the effort

04.01.2022 Work continues on the Tamiya 1/48 Lancaster. I had trouble with the final flat clear coat drying with a hazy/milky look. So a very light sand, a new bottle of clear & success! I need to do a couple of touch ups, where I’ve sanded through the paint, no problem & easily done. Then start to do final assembly. The picture of the bomb bay doors, shows what I mean about the milky appearance. It’s hard to see, the one on the left is the problem, the one on the right, has been redone. The whole kit was like this, so quite a big, time consuming job to fix it.

02.01.2022 I wasn’t going to post this yet, but decided to. It’s the start of a T610 Kenworth. I’m not into modern trucks in any great way, I much prefer older trucks, they’ve got more character, that’s just my view. However, I happen to drive a T610 for a living, so thought I’d build one. I’ve got other builds to finish first, so I just work on this occasionally.

02.01.2022 This is Airfix’s 1/24 Tyhpoon. I’ve been working on this on & off between other builds, so progress is very slow. There’s still a lot to do just on the cockpit & engine. I’ve just been adding some of the plumbing, with painting to follow, still more fine detail painting to do, followed by various washes, some dry brushing. The brownish colour on some of the engine will go, to be better finished with other washes. It’s a complex build, but well worth the effort

01.01.2022 A bit of work on the big radial for the Skyraider, a few photo etch parts & starting work on the exhausts, just to get them lined up, making sure everything fits up before painting starts

01.01.2022 This is some paint progress on the 1/32 radial for the Trumeter Skyraider. From white primer to airbrushed aluminium, followed by brush work on the crankcase, pushrods & other parts, then a dark brown wash on the cylinders. It’s not finished yet, still more to do
