24.01.2022 What a lovely sunny Monday! Here at Geckos we know how much your pups love a good play, walk or lazy day lounging in the sun! We also now how important sun safety is, for you and your furry friend! ... Here are some top tips to keep time in the sun safe and fun! Outside areas should always have shade or shelter to escape the heat of the day! Clean, fresh water should always be available for drinking, especially during and after exercise! Avoid exposure to the sun and exercise during the hottest parts of the day. Keep your pet well groomed! Avoid walking on hot pavements! Use pet safe sunscreen if you can! Pets with white or short coats are more susceptible to sunburn, taking extra care to apply well to the ears and nose! Brachycephalic (short-nosed) and long-haired breeds are more likely to get heat stroke, make sure they limit time in the sun and watch them carefully. 22.01.2022 Hello everyone So covid is starting to spike again which makes meet and greets a little Bit difficult. ... So as a team we have decided that although physical meetings are better, we are turning to face time or other video call apps to do meet and greets :) For pick up and drop off of animals make sure any materials you send with your doggo are clean and you wear gloves when handing it to us We will make sure to wear gloves, mask and have hand sanitiser on us at all times. We also have updated forms that will need to be filled out, we can email them to you and then you fill it out scan and awns it back :) Merry Christmas Stay safe And be extra precautions in these tough times

19.01.2022 What a great day this is !!! Got to meet this handsome guy Niklaus is about 3 years old ... Very well natures,calm and collected type of dog. Loves his cuddles and kisses Today we got to do a small evaluation to see what behavioural corrections he needed when walking with a lead He did absolutely amazing and listen to ever command Niklaus his parents and Our trainer Rayshell Sharpe will be doing training sessions over 4 weeks . Our goal is to have him walking without pulling on his leash and to eventually not need any corrections at all Im excited to be on this journey

18.01.2022 Quick announcement We havent been very active lately due to covid-19 , we apologise for that but things have been difficult. Ive had to make some changes to follow the health guidelines and safety regulations.... We will only be offering walking and training services for the next few months But please make sure leashes are washed and sanitised Please also make sure animals are clean before hand. From our end we will make sure to be clean, wearing gloves mask and glasses. Theres no certainty that dogs or cats and or any animal can transmit to humans but we want to be sure that theory doesnt turn into reality . 18.01.2022 TALK ABOUT IT TUESDAY good morning all Recently I have had some customers talk about their concerns with how we follow the guidelines for COVID-19 .... Here are some tips on how we make sure we do it right *we will not shake hands but give you an air high five instead * We have hand sanitisers available when you: -enter our home -handle money * we wear masks when around: -elderly as they are more susceptible to the virus -younger children as their immune system are not ready to fight this type of virus *we encourage you to do no-contact payments which include: -online transaction -bank transfer If you are unsure how , ask us and we will show you the ropes * when it comes to drop off/ pick up of your furry companions we ask that you do your best to stay at a safe distance to prevent the spread. Organise with your carer a way to do so * if you or anyone around are feeling unwell please let us know immediately -if we feel unwell we will cease our activities immediately to get tested and get well. We will also contact you if anyone around us has been unwell or if there have been any unprecedented positive cases suddenly pop up in our area, we ask that you do the same We ask everyone to stay safe and stay strong during these hard times. 17.01.2022 Howdy How are we all on this fine day !! Just wanted to let you all know of the changes that will take place as of Monday :)... First off let me say how excited we are here at geckos taking all these new leaps for a better experience !! These changes arent to drastic just small things now that we are all legitimate and doing things correctly. First change is you will now receive a form to fill out when you make an enquiry or booking with us so we can keep everything on file Second change is the way we do our payments - for some it can be confusing but we are more than happy to help when making a booking tell us when youd like to pay for it and we will send an invoice on the day of payment , the invoice has an account that youll send your payments through to once youve payed just tell us so we know its confirmed :) (gst is included so say you pay $35 for overnights itll end up being $40 or so with gst ) Third change is our community centre So when sending a making a booking make sure to send an extra message saying time for pick up and drop off and what youd like done during the stays or walks just so we can create a fun experience for your fur baby We really hope you all stay with us on our journey to bigger and better things not just for us as a team but for you as our awesome clients and your tail wagging friends

13.01.2022 Your pets are our pets in our care At Geckos, we treat your fur babies just like our own! We love kisses and cuddles and playing, and we wont say no to a walk either! This is Harvey! Our lovely walker/sitter Shannon went to see him for only the second time today! Once or twice a week Shannon will take Harvey on a fun walk (with a few corrections) and then they spend the rest of the session playing in the sun or having cuddles on the couch! (Then Mum and Dad dont have to... worry about a messy, loud or destructive puppy left alone all day either!) I think theyve made a lovely bond already! 10.01.2022 Large breeds dont have to be scary or intimidating! With a little affection, quality training and love, they can be just as much a family dog as your common Maltese or Jack Russel! This is Laz, a 2 year old Lab mix whos best friends are a Frenchie and a Corgi! He loves smaller breeds and has taught himself how to be gentle. He knows not to jump up on people (especially females!) because hes learnt that sometimes his heavy paws dont land where he expects! ... He needs to be dragged out for a walk and loves a morning cuddle. Hes a people pleaser as most big dogs are so is happy to learn with and please you as long as youre patient and kind, as we always are at Geckos Walkers and Sitters! If you and your big buddy need some extra training, extra walks or extra love while you go on holidays or during the work week feel safe knowing we are experienced with all sizes and breeds of dogs and will happily help you out with whatever you need! Shannon has completed a Cert II in Animal Studies and has been been around animals her entire life. She believes pets are 100% a part of the family! She has a safe secure yard right next to a park, surrounded by quiet streets to walk. She has been pet sitting for over a year and completed her online pet sitting course! She also has a current Police Check so you know your pets are in good hands! Shes great with all doggos and loves a cuppa and a chat! 08.01.2022 Our latest geckos were an absolute treat to spend time with Rocky being a little pup and full of energy And jet being the elder chilled out guy Jet and rocky had some play time during the afternoon and then chill time whilst the weather turned to poo... This morning we took rocky for his first walk and he was a little ball full of fun jumping and spinning but stopping and sitting when told Jet came along and walked right beside rocky and had some yummy treats on the way home It’s important to teach pups how to listen and behave on the leash as it makes taking them for a walk and hanging out more fun Can’t wait to spend more time with these guys

03.01.2022 A little bit about Sitter Shannons Supervisor! Winnie is a 6 year old corgi mix, who was rescued from Goulburn Pound by Shannon 1 year ago today! Before Shannon absolutely fell in love and travelled 4 hours there AND back just to meet her, Winnie had been returned TWICE to the pound already. She was due to be put down the weekend Shannon decided to meet her. ... Winnie had terrible separation anxiety and was terribly afraid of other dogs- to the point she would even bark at her own reflection. With love, patience and some training Winnie is now able to meet and play with many many dogs coming and going throughout the week and is the go to girl for helping other doggos with their anxiety! She helps with preventing inside accidents, toilet training, cuddle times and keeps everyone happy and safe at all times. .. Winnies Adoption Day treat today was a homemade banana, honey and peanut butter cake with banana and peanut butter icing. All ingredients used were non toxic and safe for dogs to enjoy in moderation, however Winnie will receive a little less of her dinner tonight to compensate for those extra calories to ensure she stays a happy, healthy weight. Winnie would love to feel the love with some heart reacts and shares from this post! Get on it!

Bre has experience with doggos of all shapes and sizes! She has experience in grooming, training, walking, sitting and the list goes on! She has her Cert II in Animal Studies, her online sitters course, a current police check and she is doing her dog training certificate online. This girl will stop at nothing to make sure that your animal is always in safe hands and wants the best for you and your pooch. Bre will be taking enquiries for walks, training sessions and house visits only at this current point in time!
