22.01.2022 Will be out canvasing and talking to as many residents as possible over the coming weeks. If you live in South Ward (Cloverdale and Kewdale) and you wish to speak to me then ring 0414 395 729.
20.01.2022 Corner of Knutsford and Fulham poster stolen after only one day and on Fulham opposite Big W in need of repair- both on private property other candidates are not touched makes you wonder what they are afraid of!!!
18.01.2022 Went out door knocking today and found many have already voted. After talking to some they decided to vote for the first time which is great. Let's hope we get more than the usual 29% voting in Belmont. If you have not voted then please read what I have to say and what I stand for. I am not running for financial or political gain I am a resident just like you who wants to do the best for everyone. I am also well qualified with a diploma in Local Government that no other candidate has. I regularly attend council meetings and would be able to hit the ground running if elected.
16.01.2022 Out door knocking yesterday in South Ward and saw this very colourful pair in a tree having a real good talk. Haven't seen many of these in the suburbs of late.
16.01.2022 For those interested The Local Government Act 1992 which all councillors have to abide by is currently under review. They going to be focusing on accountability, public confidence in Local Government elections and increased community participation plus other items. Community workshops are going to be held so keep a look out for those. You can find it at www.dlgc.wa.gov.au website
14.01.2022 The decisions council have made and will make affect all of us, so now is the time for you to have a think about voting for the right people - the ones who are there to represent you. Not only do I have a diploma in Local Government I have the knowledge and passion. I continually attend the full council meetings raising issues that are affecting residents and our area. I want to see changes to our planning scheme to prevent parking issues and inappropriate developments in our suburbs. I want to advocate for more police in the area - a 24hour police station is a waste of man power - we need them on the streets. Better street lighting for safety and more bike paths making it safer to ride in Belmont.
13.01.2022 Out and about again for most of the day, with same issues of parking large developments and crime. Lots are not happy with the council and ready for a change.
09.01.2022 Wow 34.22% have voted in South Ward and still 2 days to go - hope this is a sign that people want a change
07.01.2022 Had a good day door knocking in South Ward. Some of the issues people are talking about including multi storey developments and councils lack of community consultation. Met al resident who remembers me from when I was a theatre nurse at PMH.
05.01.2022 Been out all day meeting people. Crime, multi storey and parking are the main concerns and the fact there is no community consultation when high density is happening near them. People are spending lots on solar to have overshadowing happening.
04.01.2022 Last nights council meeting there was no words for. The behaviour from the gallery some people need to take a good look at themselves.
04.01.2022 One more week if you have not already voted in your council elections. This election has had more dirty tricks played than in previous elections in Belmont. I take my hat off the candidates who have run a clean race and those that have not - well you know who you are and karma does too. I have over many years attended full council meetings asking questions regarding issues that are effecting the residents - here are a small sample that I have taken from the minutes which ar...e on line should you wish to verify. April 2015 Higher Density Has there been any progress or developments - regarding multiple developments on small blocks? I.e. Gild/Gabriel Street (800m2 8 units) How is the parking going to be addressed? Dec 2015 1. How many more three storey apartments are planned and/or approved? Have we set a precedent and opened the flood gates? April 2017 In response to my questions regarding the proposed 23 unit development at Lot 100 (346) and Lot 5 (348) Abernethy Road, Cloverdale, the attached diagram showed the proposed position of the slip road and three parking bays at the front of the site. Are these three parking bays over and above the parking bay requirements for the development? July 2017 Following on from Mr Childs questions and knowing of some of the issues, it seems like there are some concerns with the JDAP and these may be solved by Council looking at the Town Planning Scheme. If we had changed the zoning it could have worked out a whole lot better. (a particular development in the minutes) Be assured if I am successful next Saturday as your councillor I will continue working for the people and fighting to make changes the residents are asking for. If unsuccessful then I will be back in the gallery asking questions and pushing for change on behalf of the residents as I have done for the last few years.
01.01.2022 The poster thieves are at it again- gone from newsagents on Belgravia Street but other candidates is un touched - they must feel threatened. I hope so - to those running a clean campaign all the best - for any that aren't hope it shows on the 21st October.
