Step 2 - Sign into the GSOD parent portal via our website: www.geelongschoolofdance.com To access your password please see you latest text message received from us. (All details included) Step 3 - Check the online 2.0 timetable uploaded to parent portal or you can view in your latest email, to double check any time changes for your class. Step 4 - Scroll to your dance day and click on it... Example: Tuesday then Scroll & find your class category and time. Step 5 - Click "join meeting" and enter the ID & password for your class. (These details are located under "join meeting". Your class ID/Password will change weekly. Step 6 - You are now in a waiting room, your teacher will let you in soon. 15.01.2022 We are so impressed with how focused and resilient all our dancers have been during our time online. Its been 6 months since our studio doors closed and in that time we opened our doors for 4 weeks. Thats more than 20 weeks running our online program. . Our primary aged dancers have been exploring new styles of dance and expanding their knowledge on where the styles of dance originated from and the multiple styles that fall under that one genre of dance. Continuing to im...prove their flexibility, balance, coordination as well as challenging themselves learning new choreography. Most importantly having fun with their dance friends and teachers in the comfort of their homes and being able to have a creative outlet, express themselves and still feel apart of the GSOD community working as a team Keep up the great dancing superstars. 08.01.2022 Our industry needs you... our dance studio is a safe place to dance. Dance is the second most popular after-school activity for girls in Victoria (source: Australian Sports Commission 2017) Over 150,000 children attend a dance and performing arts studio each week (source: ABS 2016)... Dance provides physical and mental health benefits. Even one dance class can help reduce depression (source: The Arts in Psychotherapy 2011) and increased levels in happiness from dance can last up to a week after class (source: University of Hertfordshire 2012) Quotes attributable to Director of Australian GSOD: We have a thorough COVID safe plan in place and all our teachers have completed the covid infection control training in addition to the COVID safe training provided by Victorian Sports Association. Our studios, toilets & other spaces are cleaned and sanitised after every class (some classes are a duration of 30 mins) and regularly cleaned throughout the day. Our attendance records are always up to date before contact tracing became a thing. Our studio facility space is 250m2 well and truly enough space for the 4sqm rules to apply with the number of people we have in our space at one time. Our studio has excellent air ventilation, our space includes a 5x5m roller door that can be left wide open. Our dancers do not share equipment and we have removed many props and equipment that cannot be safely cleaned and sanitised before the next person may use. Our studio facility is marked out with social distancing markers with a minimum of 1.5m as recommended. Our studio facility has the appropriate COVID signage and clear entry and exit points. We have multiple cleaning stations as well as sanitiser provided throughout our facility. All our dancers are under the age of 18 years old and those who are 12 years+ wear a mask to and from the studio facility including teachers when not dancing. Our waiting room is closed and parents wait in their car for their child to finish class. We cannot thank our GSOD families enough for the continuous support we have received in 2020! The love and kind messages we receive really do mean the world to us, it is what keeps us going along with seeing our dancers smiling on Zoom each week Thank you for reading and we would be so grateful if you share. 01.01.2022 Studio Update Dear GSOD Families, As Im sure you are aware of the latest news, following todays update - Geelong returns to Stage 3 restrictions from 11.59pm Wednesday 5th of August. .... . Our dance studio will remain open for face to face classes until restrictions start. Tuesday classes will run as normal @ studio Wednesday classes will run as normal @ studio . . We will then move our dance program online during the stage 3 restrictions. . . We will be in contact with all families tomorrow Monday 3rd of August to provide you with more information. . .
