24.01.2022 Evening Members The current coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is unfortunately affecting many aspects of daily life and the broader water ski and wakeboard commu...nity. Our number one priority and responsibility is the health and safety of everyone involved with WAWA, including our athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers. WAWA is working closely with relevant health authorities to ensure we are informed and we are doing everything we can to keep our people safe. You are probably aware that several international and national water ski and wakeboard competitions have been cancelled and postponed in recent times. In light of the situation, it is with great regret, that all events WAWA has sanctioned from 17th March 2020 onwards, can no longer be sanctioned and WAWA are not in a position to sanction any future events until further notice. By effectively withdrawing sanctioning for the remainder of our season, WAWA is playing its part in protecting our members in this unprecedented global health issue. If you have returned from overseas in the past 14 days and are experiencing signs of any infectious disease (including runny nose, sore throat, coughing or fever), please seek appropriate medical attention. We encourage you to seek relevant information regarding the virus from trustworthy sources such as health organisation and Government websites and please take all necessary precautions to stay healthy and safe. This is an ever evolving situation and updates will be presented to Divisions, States, Clubs and Members as they become available. Warm regards, Grant Barnett Leeza Wray President and Executive Officer

21.01.2022 This is a really good video by Shaun Murray that shows how much fun it is to get on the water and just have fun. In the US they are allowed to social distance at the lake in AUS we are not, but we may be back on the water earlier with less restrictions if we can get this under control. This will make us all stronger in the end. Please send me pics or vids of fun at geelong so we can share the fun we have had at geelong. https://youtu.be/YfLjhQ17JZ8

20.01.2022 Over the past weeks, the world has experienced unprecedented changes in the way we travel and live our day to day lives due to COVID-19. With the above in mind,... the IWWF World Barefoot Council advises that the 2020 IWWF World Barefoot Championships will be postponed to a date to be confirmed. Moving forward, we understand this is regrettable, yet under the circumstances understandable. The Local Organising Committee (LOC) has made every effort to alleviate this outcome. Unfortunately, force majeure has led to this announcement. The New South Wales LOC will in the coming months monitor the situation closely with a plan to reschedule the event with a revised date for late 2020. We appreciate your understanding. GEOFF BLAAUW CHAIRMAN IWWF BAREFOOT COUNCIL
