25.01.2022 Our graduating class of 2020 experienced a very unique graduation ceremony on Friday. This cohort was special, matched only by the distinctiveness of the occasion. (Some special guests were ballooned in for the occasion). Wishing all of these wonderful students all the best with their exams and/or the next chapter of their lives.
25.01.2022 So thoughtful and kind hearted Charlotte!
24.01.2022 Well done to our Year 12s who were seeking an ATAR this year. The strong results are pleasing to see and a credit to the students, and staff, who put in the hard work during a difficult year. Our 2020 Dux is Noah Foster who achieved a highly commendable 96.3 ATAR. Congratulations on achieving Dux, Noah.

22.01.2022 An amazing day with amazing students! A 10km beach hike with the Edge students with not one single complaint. (Not even from the teachers). Well done, all.
21.01.2022 Sunrise through the fog this morning. A reminder of the goodness of our God as we navigate life.
21.01.2022 WELCOME BACK!!! Bleak weather, but beautiful smiling faces, as Primary teachers and students greeted each other! Happy ( and somewhat relieved) parents, were so patient with the road conditions and rain. One last hurdle to navigate hopefully! We thank our GBC families for supporting and helping their children in so many ways, during last term! Our GBC logo depicts a bird rising and soaring above the challenges of today. This is so true of our students, families and our GBC staff in 2020! Blessings and gratitude to you all!

18.01.2022 AUTUMN HARVEST FESTIVAL/ALL HOLDEN DAY CANCELLATION The World Health Organisation (WHO) yesterday (11th March 2020) declared Covid 19 a pandemic. In light of th...is, we have decided to cancel the 2020 Autumn Harvest Festival. The effects of this pandemic are clearly beginning to be felt in Australia. Having weighed up the pros and cons, it is evident that cancellation is the best possible decision for our community. Until the consequences and the management strategies of this pandemic are more defined by the WHO and other government organisations, it is evident that the cancellation of the Autumn Harvest Festival is the best decision. Given the reality that the GBC Autumn Harvest Festival is an open event that is likely to draw a large number of people, exposing the College and its community to an unnecessary risk would not be responsible. The current government advice is that ‘big group gatherings, should be limited’ in order to best protect the community. For GBC, minimising possible risks is imperative. At this stage, we are blessed to not have any cases of the virus in our College community, and this is a status we would like to maintain as far as possible. We will have an opportunity for the community to support the endeavours of those who have selflessly contributed to the AHF and we will sell some of the wonderful products that have been made, as well as bid on Silent Auction items. Pre-sold ride wrist bands will be refunded. The office will work through refunding families in due course. Ready baked items can be dropped into the office on Friday, where we will run a cake stall from 2.30pm to 4pm. As information becomes available, we will continue to work on contingency arrangements and plans to update and inform our much valued GBC community. On behalf of the Geelong Baptist College Board Judy Sobey (Primary Principal) and Neil Wetmore (Secondary Principal)

16.01.2022 We wish to inform our GBC College students and families that we can confirm a second COVID-19 case has been detected in one of our secondary students. Whilst contact tracing takes place, families are reminded that all GBC students and teachers must self-isolate until we are instructed by DHHS otherwise. The College has undergone deep cleaning today and will move to Online Learning, as of Tuesday August 4th until Friday August 14th, or until further notice. We extend our love and thoughts to our students who have contracted this virus and pray for their speedy recovery.
14.01.2022 An Easter bonnet is any new or fancy hat, worn as a Christian head covering at Easter. By tradition, an Easter bonnet represents the wearing of new clothes at Easter, in harmony with the renewal of the year and the promise of spiritual renewal and redemption through the death and resurrection of the Savior. Our primary Easter Bonnet Parade was so colourful with all the students’ ( and parents’) beautiful home-made hats!
13.01.2022 GBC is proud to announce some of the special awards issued for 2020. We are inspired by the achievements and efforts of our worthy recipients.

04.01.2022 Please be advised that GBC has sent all students home today, due to a positive COVID case detected in a student in the secondary school. Parents are advised that the school will remain closed whilst DHHS investigates. As a result of the investigation there will be no remote learning for students this week. Please be advised that parents will be kept informed of developments via email.
