25.01.2022 After receiving further clarification around reopening regulations, we are pleased to announce that we will be reopening for dining in from this Friday the 12th of June. We will be taking bookings across multiple sittings for groups of up to six. In order to comply with regulations, all patrons must order food with their drinks. 20.01.2022 Thoroughly enjoyed this blast from the past recently and thought I’d share it with you! It was a MAGNUM (1.5lt) of the 1997 @bannockburnvineyards Cabernet Merlot...opened for a special occasion and sentimental reasons, this truly delivered - it was AMAZING! Incredibly well cellared, the wine was one of the best aged reds I’ve ever seen from this producer - balanced, fresh (!), rich, super complex and silky smooth...absolutely incredible for a Geelong Cabernet (or any aged Aus...tralian for that matter)...mind you, the 1997 vintage was a drought year which produced small, concentrated berries, packed with flavour and complexity - definitely one out of the box for Cab’s in the region, hence why then winemaker Gary Farr bottled some magnums for later release. 19.01.2022 At last! The new Heroes 2019 Pinot Noir has arrived! We’ve been chomping at the bit in anticipation of this wine release and Winemaker James Thomas and his Heroes vineyard have certainly delivered in spades, in fact he considers this wine the best he’s yet made in his career and we wholeheartedly concur! It’s a superbly structured Pinot Noir with inherent power and complexity that really shines a light on the potential of this site down in the Otway’s. Of course, there’s less... to go around as it wasn’t a huge vintage, and there’s more demand these days as James’ reputation grows - thus there’s also been a price increase, yet who cares, if you’re a serious Pinot lover, that’s par for the course and this still offers great value in our opinion. 07.01.2022 With restrictions starting to ease, we had hoped that we would be able to reopen our doors to all our wonderful customers and slowly begin the process of resuming business. However, as we don’t exactly fit into the category of a ‘Restaurant’ or ‘Cafe’, there is a lot of grey area around the service of, and what constitutes a ‘meal’. As we are essentially a Wine Bar, and only serve platters which are classified as snacks and not meals as such, we believe we are unable to reo...pen to patrons at this point in time. We will however be opening for retail sales from Thursday June 4th under our new retail operating hours which will be announced shortly. Additionally, we will also be continuing our ‘Door to Door’ delivery service with FREE local delivery. 06.01.2022 It has almost been 2 months now since we were forced to close but it feels more like 2 years! We are really missing seeing all our lovely happy customers, catching up with friends and family, popping in for a quick wine and cheese before a dinner date or show, or just settling in for a chat or down time. Being Autumn, we’d usually have the fire all crackling and cosy, serving up our delicious cheese and charcuterie platters, all accompanied with the fantastic wines of our region...ah, memories!
