23.01.2022 Our Seniors have been working on some Graham Technique in Contemporary class, ever since their teacher Sofia was able to take a week-long teacher workshop directly from the @marthagrahamschool in New York a few weeks ago! Graham Technique develops incredible core strength and requires heaps of acute muscle control and coordination... and they make it look easy! 21.01.2022 Meet... Miss Sofia Sofia was born in Mexico and raised near Houston, TX, where she was a competitive dancer until age 16. Then she focused on ballet, contemporary, and jazz training mainly at the Houston Metropolitan Dance Centre until she graduated from highschool. Later, she found herself back in Mexico City and continued to train with a focus on contemporary. Some of the highlights of her career have been performing with Tania Perez-Salas Company, forming part of Unifunk Dance Company, and starring in International Music Videos with artists such as Drake Bell and Residente. #sofiareinking #gdmteachers #GDM #geelongdancemovement #geelongdanceteachers #seeyouonthedancefloor

Miss Sofia Since her arrival to Australia in 2019, Sofia has established herself as a teacher at GDM, The Loft Dance Studio, and APO Arts Academy in Melbourne, as well as become part of @blinkdancetheatre. Her favourite style is contemporary (as you may have guessed) and she loves approaching movement from an anatomical perspective.
