23.01.2022 Dear valued patients of Geelong Dental Group, GOOD NEWS: The dental industry was given the good news a few days ago that as of next week (26th of April), restriction will be eased to level 2... What does this mean for us? We are now able to provide more range of treatments including non emergency fillings, invisalign and completion of root canals that had been previously commenced. What treatments are still restricted? Under the new restriction, the cleaning of teeth using the ultrasonic scaler is still prohibited. This is due to high amount of aerosol generated from this procedure. What we will be doing as a practice for our patients? Patients should be expecting a phone call from one of the receptionists to inform you personally that your treatments that were previously postponed can now be commenced. We will also try to create an appointment so these treatments can be completed as soon as necessary. Please be rest assured that though the restriction had been eased, we are still performing our cleaning and infection control protocol to the highest and strictest quality. Please call us if you are unsure whether your issue will be considered essential under the new level of restriction Thank you again for supporting and thinking of us during this tough time. 11.01.2022 Hi everyone! With the new face covering restrictions in place from today, we ask that you please attend the clinic with your face covering on and keep it on until you are in the chair. Once your treatment is complete we ask that you please pop it back on whilst in the reception area. Just a reminder to limit people attending the clinic to those receiving treatment only, unless necessary. ... We have lots of hand sanitizer at reception, so please make good use of this on your way in and out! We will also be taking temperatures. Thanks so much for understanding! Just a quick message to make everyone aware that the restrictions placed on dental in regional Victoria (including Geelong) have been moved to level 1.... We have been made aware of this via correspondence from the ADA (Australian Dental Association). We are very happy to be able to say that all preventative dentistry can now be performed, as this was deferred previously! 01.01.2022 Dear patients of Geelong Dental Group, It is with great excitement we inform you that as of last weekend, dental restriction have been eased to level 1 What does this mean?... By definition, this means that All dental treatments are allowed to be performed using standard precautions for people who do not meet clinical risk factors for COVID-19 infection transmission. We are therefore still performing social distancing rules in the clinic, including removal of magazines and kids' toys, rearrangement of chairs in the waiting room, plenty of hand sanitizer available upon entrance, etc. For patients whom treatments have been put on hold,you will be expecting phone calls from our lovely receptionists to arrange your appointment again with us. 6 monthly check up and clean appointment will also be back as usual. We encourage patients who have missed out on their 6 monthly recall during the lockdown to book in for your appointment whenever you feel ready, either by calling us on 5221 8452 or book online. We have also been notified that the online booking system has been playing up, we have been working diligently to get this back up and running hopefully within the next few days. Finally, i hope everyone is staying safe during this hard time and able to catch up with friends and families as of today (per Dan Andrew's announcement yesterday).
