Tropical fruits are high in enzymes and are great for for early feeding as they basically digest themselves. 12.01.2022 October is Infant and Pregnancy Loss Awareness month. A time to be reminded to have the tough conversations to reduce the isolation that lot of women live with. It is estimated that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage and 2 in every 1,000 babies die in the first 28 days of life. There is no miracle diet that will prevent a miscarriage, and if you have had recurrent miscarriages, you should seek expert medical advice from an obstetrician. However, I get that women want to... do everything they possibly can that is within their control to have the best possible chance to conceive and safely carry a baby. The tips below are backed by science and are good to keep in mind when considering pregnancy: 1. Get checked out for any underlying or undiagnosed medical conditions. There are many that can affect your ability to fall pregnant and increase the risks of miscarriage if unmanaged. 2. Maintain a healthy weight. 3. Incorporate low mercury, oily fish into your diet twice a week. Omega 3 fatty acids support egg health and brain development of your baby. 4. Ensure you are getting enough Folate or Folic Acid, Choline, and Niacin. A supplement will usually be necessary, but food sources also include green leafy vegetables (folate), protein sources like meats and fish (niacin) and eggs, potatoes, soy products (choline) should be regularly consumed. 5. Have an antioxidant rich diet - think lots of big leafy green salads 6. Limit alcohol and have minimal caffeine.
