Did you know they can lay approximately 3 to 8 eggs per day for 16 days after mating? At worst thats approximately 128 eggs for just one female louse. That is why it is so important to be vigilant in the fight against head lice and treat as soon as any infestation is found. However, there are a few simple steps you can take to prevent the spread of these pesky little creatures. 1. Make sure your child packs their own pillow and uses it only. Change the pillow case when your child returns home. 2. Ensure your child uses their own hair brush and hair accessories, especially the girls! 3. Contrary to popular belief head lice are not fussy. They dont care if your hair is clean or dirty, curly or straight, old or young. 19.01.2022 COVID 19 has changed the way we do things and we wanted to let you know a few things we are doing in the salon. We have increased the sanitising of high touch surfaces such as door handles, eftpos machines, chairs and bathroom facilities. The bathroom will also now have papertowel to use when drying hands. Our headlice combs & other combs are sterilised after every use & have always been. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP! A young family member of our team has severe lung problems, so ...it is imperative that we implement a few changes to keep the whole family well. PLEASE CALL US PRIOR TO ATTENDING OUR SALON if.. you or your children have any signs of a cold or flu, fever, sore throat, shortness of breath or have travelled internationally in the last 14 days (including family members). In turn, we will ensure that staff are not in the salon if they are feeling unwell. If you do need to postpone your appointment because of illness, we can provide advice with how to deal with any infestation until you can attend our salon. 09.01.2022 Corona virus is unfortunately continuing to linger in this beautiful town of ours. While we remain open at this time, we continue to ask our clients that they do not attend the salon if they or anyone at home is sick with colds, flus, fevers or coughs; if you have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive or anyone awaiting a test result. We also ask that no additional siblings (siblings not being treated or checked) attend our salon. Our staff will also not attend if they too are sick and have now commenced wearing face masks during all treatments. Further, in an effort to keep us all safe we wipe down all surfaces with disinfectant after each client. Hopefully we will get through this sooner rather than later and continue to give relief from head lice to our wonderful clients.

02.01.2022 Don't waste your time washing every piece of linen your head lice infected person has come in contact with. With the weather cooling down, you will never get it all dry, plus.....there is absolutely no need to! It's a common misconception that you need to sterilise everything in sight. Head lice do not live off the head. So, after a treatment simply change the pillow case by either washing it in hot water or place it in the clothes dryer for 10 minutes on high.
