We were delighted to acquire this major work in the artists oeuvre recentl...y, which comprises a large scale customised plinth on which over thirty sculptural components are positioned (including circles, cones, arches, squares, triangles and cylinders). Inspired by the architecture of Rome, Silent era is complemented by Meilaks On the Palatine, a still-life painting in which similar geometric forms are deftly arranged in a composition reminiscent of the evocative cityscapes of 19th century Italian artist Giorgio de Chirico. During Sams time a...t the Batesford he won the Golden Plate award for best hotel dining, The Geelong Culinary Shield and was invited to be one of the chefs involved in Worlds longest lunch! Hes pretty keen to get back in the kitchen and we asked him how he felt about returning to his old stomping ground. "I am very excited to be returning to the Batesford Hotel, having previously spent about ten years involved in the business, I feel as though Im coming home, and this is how I want people to also feel when they visit, to be able to feel relaxed and enjoy a really great meal with family and friends. I want to offer both some innovative dishes and some of the more familiar food that people have come to love at the Batesford Hotel, such as my world famous Irish mash. 04.01.2022 Break out the champagne - we have an opening date for our new showroom! Ok, we all know we cant get together and drink champagne just yet, and weve actually s...till got a bit of work to do before we can sit back and relax, but we do have a date when we will be moving. All going well our last trading date at our Pakington St showroom, our home for the past 60 years or so, will be Friday 21st August. We will then open our new South Geelong showroom at 100 Balliang St from Monday, 24th August. Not all of our new displays will be done, but we are working hard on getting things ready. Customer orders always take priority, so our displays sometimes just have to wait. Current restrictions mean we do need to limit the mount of customers in the store, but we look forward to welcoming you all to Brax HQ - our consolidated retail and manufacturing facilities - the home of more than just blinds!
