25.01.2022 We are incredibly excited to get back into rehearsals at the Geelong Arts Centre this week, creating magic with our performers once again. We can not wait to share this incredible experience with you all on Saturday the 28th of November at 7:30pm, via the Geelong Arts Centre's live stream.

24.01.2022 Geelong Lyric Theatre Society are absolutely thrilled to announce our involvement in the Geelong Arts Centre's upcoming ‘Live and Local’ initiative, after being awarded one of their Creative Engine grants. Tune in to the Geelong Arts Centre's live stream at 7:30pm on Saturday the 28th of November for a magical evening of live music. We will be presenting a selection of songs from our upcoming production of ‘Wish Upon a Song’ performed by some of Geelong’s top vocal talents,... while also featuring the voices of our full cast, alongside members of the Geelong Youth Choir Inc. This week we commenced rehearsing and recording the backing vocals for our full company numbers, where were once again blown away by the immense talent we have in our cast. We would like thank the Geelong Arts Centre for awarding us this grant, and giving a wonderful opportunity for members of our cast and greater community to perform once more! : Michael Mason

23.01.2022 AN IMPORTANT STATEMENT REGARDING WISH UPON A SONG AND COVID-19. As we are all too well aware, the escalating events and response to COVID-19 has been extremely fluid and fast moving, particularly over the past few days, and as a company, we have gone from monitoring the situation to now being compelled to act. The committee of Geelong Lyric Theatre Society, together with the ‘Wish Upon A Song’ Production Team have agreed, in an attempt to safeguard the personal well-being of... our cast and the health of our community, to postpone our May 2020 production. Thank you to our wonderful cast, orchestra and to the Geelong Youth Choir Inc. for the wonderful rehearsals already undertaken and the unwavering commitment to this spectacular production. I would also like to thank our community for all your support to date and we wish you and your families all the very best during this time of uncertainty. Further details will be released as they are confirmed over the coming weeks and months and as we continue to work closely with our creatives, cast and the Geelong Arts Centre to ensure ‘Wish Upon A Song’ is staged as soon as practical. 05.01.2022 Our Annual General Meeting, due to be held Sunday 20th December 2020, has been postponed until Tuesday 2nd February 2021. This is a lawful postponement, made possible by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Victoria, who have offered three month extensions for incorporated organisations, within the current financial year. This will ensure an appropriate notification period for this important event and also allow for a full attendance. 03.01.2022 This week the Geelong Lyric Theatre Society attended Arts Centre Melbourne’s Entertainment Industry Safety Program where our team was granted the opportunity to upskill in areas of safety surrounding the Arts. Yesterday, our executive committee members engaged in the Arts Wellbeing Collective Workshop and Working in a Covid Safe Environment sessions. We wish to thank Arts Centre Melbourne for this brilliant opportunity and the Geelong Arts Centre for hosting the event.
