25.01.2022 Hello to all members and followers. Today would have been our sail day at the club but due to social distancing with the covid19 pandemic we were not able to so. Hope all is well and safe and we'll be looking forward to catching up with everyone once this is all over and life returns to some normality. Cheers for now, Trevor and Willy.
25.01.2022 We regret to inform our members and interested friends, that the May 2020 Lake Goldsmith Rally has been cancelled due to the current health crisis.
25.01.2022 Hello Fellow model boat enthusiasts. With the easing of the Covid-19 restrictions, the Chairmen are debating whether or not to re open the club for sailing days. The allowed number of people in outdoor gatherings is limited to 10 people. What are your thoughts on opening, and do you feel that we can keep to no more than 10 people? Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
24.01.2022 COVID -19 update. Due to the worsening 2nd wave outbreak, its safe to say that ALL sail dates are cancelled untill further notice. We are unable to guarantee limited numbers in outdoor spaces and social distancing, so for everyone's health and safety its advisable for everyone to stay home. While this is extremely frustrating to not enjoy being outdoors and sailing boats, its perhaps a great opportunity to spend time in your workshops finishing off models and projects.
23.01.2022 Just a reminder that the Victorian Radio Yachting Association insurance membership is also due in June. This renewal will be for the 2020 to 2021 season. The cost is still $7.50 per person, the gmbc recommends all members to renew their insurance as this is a requirement for the Deakin University lease agreement. Cheers Trevor and Willy.
22.01.2022 Hello everyone, hope you all are safe and well. Not long now till we can officially announce our return to the lake for sail days. I would Love to see what project you have been working on so please share a photo. Hope to see everyone soon, cheers Trevor and Willy.
22.01.2022 Todays sailing day saw a small handful of members brave the cold to 'play boats'. Barry brought down his example of the 'Milk carton challenge', being based on a Canadian pusher tug, including a novelty gizzly bear as captain! This model is tiny, as the hull is made up from one Big M iced coffee carton! Hope this inspires others to have a crack at the challenge.
22.01.2022 A nice warm morning with a slight breeze to blow the yachts around.
19.01.2022 We have been notified by the Kardinia Park Trust that this years Festival of Sport will be cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
19.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT. The QMM and the GMBC has decided that the exhibition/competition that was planned for September has been put on hold. This is due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions and the uncertainty of the timeframe of when they will be lifted to enable an event such as this to be allowed. It is unclear at this stage when we will be able to re schedule the event, so its a matter of 'wait and see'.... The QMM and the GMBC apologize for any inconvenience.
16.01.2022 Howdy folks. So, the Chairman have decided (due to Deakin not allowing us back yet) that we will temporarily move our sailing days to Seagull Paddock in North Geelong. The water level there is high enough to allow for reasonable launching and retrieval of boats. There is limited seating and tables, so its best to BYO. Also, there is no shade or shelter, so please ensure that you check the forecast and dress appropriately for the weather. Toilets are close by, as for parking, however its a short walk from the carpark to the waters edge to carry models. Please also ensure that we adhere to the social distancing measures requirements and also wear face masks. Cheers, William and Trevor.

03.01.2022 Our first sailing day after the Covid-19 restrictions have eased saw a small group of members turn up to brave the rather icy breeze and occasional bit of rain. It appears that we have a new obstical in the water to keep watch of, a very large branch of a tree has come down after recent storms. Hoping next sailing day will have warmer weather!
03.01.2022 Hello fellow model boat enthusiasts. We are pleased to announce that our club will reopen in accordance with the Government easing of the Covid-19 restrictions as of tomorrow. This means that we can go sailing on our usual first Sunday of the month Sailing Day, Sunday 7th June. Also, we recommend that if your feeling unwell, think that your medically vulnerable, to please stay home. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you again after such a long break. Time to dust off your boats, charge up your batteries, and bring down your "milk carton challenge boats" for show and tell!!! Cheers William and Trevor.
