23.01.2022 Awesome to see everyone on our end of year social ride. A huge group turned up with big smiles and lots of banaughstar. Thanks to the our Amazing President Alan who stayed back to cook the Barbie and Ready the drinks for our return. From everyone at GMBC have a Happy X-Mas and a Safe New Year see you in 2021, Racing Begins Mid Jan.

20.01.2022 Important Note: It should come as no surprise that the You Yang's Mountain Bike Park is closed until further notice due to a lot of rain falling on the trails please respect the closure as riding on trails when it is this wet creates a lot of damage. Photo is not of the actual trails

20.01.2022 Dear GMBC Members, On the 21st of October 2020 GMBC held the AGM for the first time via the virtual format and we would like to thank all the members that dialed in, here is a quick update. Big thanks to outgoing Committee Members Jonathan Connor and Peter Henkel for their years of work on the Committee, your contribution means a lot to us.... The new committee consists of the following people along with their new roles, and we would like to thank everyone for putting their hand up and a big congratulations to your new President Alan Flaherty. President - Alan Flaherty Vice President - Chris Pearce (New) Treasurer - Joel Geysen Secretary - Stu Brown Administrator - Andrea Brown General Committee - Colin Linahan, Pete Gordon, Racheal Marshall, David Goodall, Gavin Erickson (New), Nathan Clarke (New), Gerard McHugh (New), Scott Gavens (New) I would also like to ensure everyone we are starting to look at racing and social events in the very near future. Permits have been put in with the hope we can begin racing for both Juniors (Dirt Squirts 4-12yo) and everyone else like Friday Night Racing. More on this once the new committee meets late next week. Finally as outgoing president I would like to take this opportunity to thank all members for their support. 19.01.2022 You Yangs is open with the following exceptions at Stockyards (Track 10 & 12 are closed double diamond trails) and Track 13 is closed this morning for maintenance. All trails are open at Kurrajong but be aware there may be surface water.

13.01.2022 Do not forget AGM tomorrow night at 7pm all members check their email for details. We would really love to see some new blood (especially young blood) step up to be in the committee. All key positions are open for reelection so if you see yourself as the next Club President, Vice President, Treasurer or Secretary now is the time to join and lead the club in a new and exciting direction. Without dedicated volunteers at a committee level it limits the opportunities for our members so step up it is a very rewarding opportunity.

12.01.2022 Such an Amazing turn out today, it's been such a wonderful initiative to work together with Surf Coast MTB Club to create the Dirt Girls Social Rides well done everyone and a big thanks to Lisa, Jenny and Racheal from GMBC, Chiara , Marlene, Jenna, Mel, Karen and Lissie from SCMBC for being so giving of your time

11.01.2022 GMBC Dirt Squirts Racing is Back In what has been a very ordinary year we have finally reached that light at the end of the tunnel. We are so happy to be able to bring Dirt Squirts Racing back to the You Yangs, as you can imagine dates are a premium at the moment so we are limited to before and after Christmas and due to the load on our volunteers we are spacing out the events. A lot more information and entry details will be up late Friday (8pm) so keep an eye on the Facebo...ok Pages (inc. GMBC Junior Development) and our website gmbc.com.au The confirmed dates for the 6 race summer series are below each race will be Mid Morning. 1. Sunday December the 13th 2020 Stockyards Drysdale Car Park Area 2. Sunday January the 17th 2021 Stockyards Drysdale Car Park Area 3. Sunday January the 31st 2021 Kurrajong Picnic Ground 4. Sunday February the 14th 2021 Kurrajong Picnic Ground 5. Sunday February the 28th 2021 Kurrajong Picnic Ground 6. Sunday March the 14th 2021 Stockyards Drysdale Car Park Area In order to ensure we are employing the best practices to reduce the spread of COVID-19 the races will be On-Line Entry Only. The first race will also be where trophies from last year will be handed out, if you can not make the first race you will be able to collect them at any of the 6 races. There will be a lot more planned through the year this is just the start of another exciting season, looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces very soon. GMBC Junior Development Team P.S. 09.01.2022 The You Yang's Mountain Bike Park is closed due to excessive rain please stay tuned and we will let you know when it is back open.

07.01.2022 A five race On Line Zwift Series was run and organised by one of our amazing members Chris Fice over the past 6 weeks. The final results are attached below and as promised some "sweet" prizes will be coming to the winners. On behalf of the club thanks for organising, I believe Chris will be organising another series soon so on behalf of the club thanks heaps Chris and keep an eye out on either this page a group page "Shredding" and if the next series go ahead I get myself organised and have each race on the Website.

07.01.2022 GMBC have contributed funds to help with upgrade of track 15 as well as some repairs to Track 17. A percentage of each race entry goes directly into upgrade works such as these. Thank you to everyone who comes out and supports our club run events.

06.01.2022 Please Note: On Sunday the 13th of December 2020 from 9am to 11am the following tracks will be used for our Dirt Squirts Event, which essentially is all of track + some Fire road. While the tracks on not closed it would be much appreciate if you use the other trails during this time. Thanks so much for your assistance

05.01.2022 Additional Information for Dirt Squirts Event on this Sunday 3yo - 12yo I have now worked out and I think created a working AUSCycling Event Link for DS this Sunday so you can use if you are a AUSCycling Member. Please test and use and any concerns let us know ASAP. https://events.auscycling.org.au/event-registra//events/44 I have also provided the picture attached as a guide for what to do when you are there. Finally fruit will not be cut up for this race we are keeping it very simple and there will be no presentation for this race. We will have the trophies from last series to hand out though if the relevant person is there otherwise we may have to try and get them sent or picked up at the next race.

03.01.2022 AUSCycling Member Process for MTBA event registration. Unfortunately, the MTB event registration system MOS is not able to verify the new AusCycling memberships in TidyHQ. To get an account set up in MOS or to reactivate your old MTB membership, please email [email protected] with your membership details. Note: AUSCycling does not have an entry system yet GMBC Membership is now obtained through AUSCycling member sign up. ... I would get onto this as a priority as events for GMBC will be starting very soon!!
