25.01.2022 This long exposure image taken by Ivan Paraggio of the Brisbane Photography Group at Nudgee Beach is an excellent example of long exposure images. Taken just before midnight, Ivan captured this image in one 20 second exposure and edited in Lightroom. Want to improve your photography, have fun, and meet new people? 25.01.2022 Location: Downtown Las Vegas ... While downtown, doing a lifestyle shoot, we ventured over to the Plaza, near the long strip of lights over the sidewalk. We were able to get a few shots under there, before security asked us to leave, but just as we were leaving, we stopped at the curb, and I was able to capture this image of Yesenia, using the wall of the Plaza as a flat backdrop, and the ambient lighting from all the overhead bulbs. 22.01.2022 Astro wedding photography. Finding the right conditions is one of the big challenges for this type of wedding shoot. If the moon is too bright, the stars can be overwhelmed. If the spot is too close to a city, the light pollution affects how the night sky looks. If its too cloudy, nothing shows up. Photo Credit: John Winters from Austin Photography Society ... 20.01.2022 This photo was taken at Polihale Beach park on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. I had tried several shots of the surroundings at various angles. I talked my friend into hanging out a bit to see the sunset as the clouds and hint of earlier color looked promising. I'm happy we did as I walked away with several nice shots. I have been practicing using a longer exposure to soften up the photo and in this case it worked. Here are my settings: ISO 100, 18mm, F11, 2.0 sec. 19.01.2022 Jorge offered to do a photoshoot for one of his friends for his business page. The location was right outside their workplace, it was not a pretty scene at all but he did his best to get the shots with creative angles so the background looks alright for the outcome of the images. Thank you for allowing us to share your good work, Jorge. Photo Credit: Jorge DIaz Austin Photography Society Want to improve your photography, have fun, and meet new people? 18.01.2022 Sometimes the conditions don't work in your favor to capture action photographs. As a photographer you need to know when to switch to manual mode and understand that dialling in your settings can achieve a great image. In this example, captured on a very cold, wet and misty Winters evening, the photographer ensured the shutter speed was fast enough to freeze the player, whilst having an ISO high enough for the sensor to allow enough light in to expose the image. 14.01.2022 Peacock At Floyd Lamb Park Breathtaking subjects rarely look more beautiful in a photo. Photographers try to capture the full display of peacock feathers by backing up or zooming out, so that all the feathers are in the frame. But this distant perspective can actually make the feathers look smaller and less impressive. Well done Herbert you have captured a really nice sharp image with brilliant composition. 12.01.2022 This photo was for an ad for SmithAndWestern.net. It is on location at the train depot in Wickenburg. I was recreating an old train platform feel with vintage suitcases and locomotive steam recreated with a fog machine rented from Tempe Camera. I used strobe lighting consisting of an extra large light box to the side for the key light, a large umbrella behind me to add fill light and a 10 reflector with a blue gel lighting the rear. I manually pre focused on a particular spot... and made sure the model was crossing the left leg over right on the mark as I clicked the shutter. I also used a fan to blow air on her. Thank you for sharing your image and shooting techniques with us Eric. We look forward to seeing more portrait work from you in the future. 11.01.2022 Matthew Cope is a photographer from Tampa Photography Group he goes go by (M.C Photography) Matt ventured out of his local area of St.Pete Florida and headed down to Bradenton riverwalk. He decided to look for something that stood out and something you don't see every day. There was a train track bridge that went across the Manatee River that was old and no longer in use. Matt wanted that to be in the photo so he searched around an noticed a small mangrove plant growing out o...f a wood pillar an that is something you don't see every day an the two just clicked. Matt wanted the plant as his main subject and the train tracks to be in the background. In any scene with several subjects or objects in the front and back of the frame, the foreground elements will catch the eye in the first instant. If the foreground was empty this would have given the image less impact. Photo Credit: Matt Cope Tampa Photography Group Want to improve your photography, have fun, and meet new people? 05.01.2022 A teleconverter is an additional lens added between your camera and lens to increase the focal length of your lens. You will loose at least of stop by adding a teleconverter but the benefits, as shown in this incredible image of an Osprey, captured by Rob Walley of the Charlotte Photography Club are well worth this. 04.01.2022 An incredible photo of lightning striking. 03.01.2022 This shot I got when I been there for a sunset picture. The tide was going out and building up nice reflections of wheel. I thought it will be nice to wait for twilight and then the lights of wheel and tower switched on. After another hour of waiting I got this shot. 03.01.2022 It was 11pm and Reece was on the hunt for a good Milky Way shot that wasn't working out. This image was the shot of the night with the water so flat it was like glass that reflected the ship and the night clouds ( USS Tarawa). Settings: ISO 800, 46 mm, F5.6, 13sec exposure. 01.01.2022 Paul Caraglanis of the Melbourne Photography Group took this fantastic star trail photo. This image was taken from his deck at home which is 17k's from the CBD of Melbourne.
