15.01.2022 4 days to go....the weather forecast is looking hot for weekend so please come prepared! There will be plenty of sunscreen and water available but make sure you're SUNSMART with a hat, long sleeve top and sunglasses Due to extreme heat conditions forecast for this weekend teams are advised to take note of the following and spread the message to their team mates; - Please come and setup early, we will be there from 8am to avoid setting up in the hotter part of the day... - You must be wearing a hat on the track during daylight, broad brimmed, bucket or legionnaires is best or consider bringing an umbrella to walk under - The first aid team will be trackside please don’t hesitate to use them if you feel at all unwell - Except for the Survivors and Carers afternoon tea the Pavilion will be available for you to sit in at all times, use this to escape the heat! - Seek shade whenever you are not on the track, there will be plenty of extra marquees to sit under - Please look out for each other and listen to officials such as first aid, security and the committee. They may ask you to rest during the hotter times of the day. - Be SUNSMART and stay HYDRATED. Bring plenty of sunscreen and large water bottles (there will be a water station trackside as well as in the pavilion) - Do not hesitate to rest your entire team, if needed take some timeout off the track - Schedule more rest time and shorter track times for your team mates participants shouldn’t be on the track for more than 15 minutes then take at least a 5 minute break and at least a cup of water (250mls) before returning to the track We want all participants to stay safe and healthy, the weather isn’t predicted to cool off too much overnight so please be aware of these conditions.
