18.01.2022 CHAMPIONS: Over the weekend our very own U11s, U12s and U13s boys teams traveled up the highway and represented in the inaugural Casey Cup Tournament. The U13 Boys were super competitive in all games and managed to take home the U13s , taking out the final in a hard thought out game with the players showing some amazing spirit and desire to get across the line and be crowned champions with what can only be described as a truly amazing team spirit lead by head coach Gary Ha...rper. The U12s again were super competitive playing in some nail biting games across the weekend showcasing some amazing individual and team spirit lead by head coach Jon Kara. The U11s completed the amazing showcase of talent over the weekend by all GSC players across all ages, by going the entire tournament unbeaten and being top goal scorers. The finals series on the last day were played in some challenging weather. This did not dampen the teams focus and they had there eye on the prize taking on all challenges while playing mouth watering football all the while keeping to the values of the club at the forefront of everything they did. They were crowned champions with a convincing win in the final, lead by head Coach Mike Kociski Geelong SC would like to thank all the parents for showing amazing sportsmanship to all players and there continued encouragement and we would also like to thank the amazing team managers for all the work they have dedicated to support the teams. Finally, the coaches who put endless hours of work into the teams on a weekly basis and lastly to all the players for playing with such spirit and determination and willingness to learn in the great moments and the hard moments.

The Board have been working behind the scenes to ensure that the appropriate measures have been put in place to ensure a safe environment for our members.... When does training commence? Training sessions will begin on the following dates: Senior Mens (including 20s & 18s) Tuesday 2nd June 2020 Senior Womens Thursday 4th June 2020 NPL Boys Thursday 4th June 2020 Community Boys Thursday 4th June 2020 Miniroos Sunday 14th June 2020 *All Training will be conducted at Stead Park. Training will be a staged return for each team. Coaches and/or team manager will be in contact via usual communication platform with further details about training night/s and time!

16.01.2022 Protecting the health and wellbeing of the GSC Community CORONAVIRUS The health and wellbeing of our players, members and their families is of paramount importance to us here at the Club. The World Health Organisations (WHO) recent classification of Coronavirus (Covid-19) as a pandemic is concerning for our community. Geelong SC is committed to help reduce the risks and spread of COVID-19. We support the ongoing vigilance and practices as outlined in the WHO and Australian... Health Authorities guidelines. Geelong SC will follow the WHO, the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and Football Victoria (FV) guidelines. Prevention how to protect yourself and others Cough or sneeze into your elbow or by covering your mouth and nose with tissues. Put used tissues in the bin or a bag immediately. Wash your hands with soap and water often (for at least 20 seconds) or use alcohol-based and sanitiser regularly. Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell. Dont touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean. Avoid personal contact, such as sharing cups or food with sick people. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects. Stay home if you feel unwell. Further details can be found on www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus or you can call the National Coronavirus Health Information Line on 1800 020 080 or DHHS on 1300 651 160. Actions the Club is taking: The Club is in the process of sourcing hand sanitiser (there is currently a shortage). The hand sanitiser will be placed near the entrance of the club room. Club rooms and amenities will be cleaned more frequently. Coaches and Team Managers will encourage and remind our players about the preventative actions noted above. What we ask of our members: If your child, or any member of your family is unwell or is displaying any symptoms such as a sore throat, cough, cold or fever, we kindly ask that you keep your child at home and visit a doctor. Please keep your child at home and notify the Club if they or a family member have been in the vicinity of any person or place associated with cases of COVID-19, or have returned from an overseas high risk location in the last 14 days. Please talk to your child about the preventative actions noted above. We will be checking the DHHS and FV website daily for updates and will adjust our course of action according to their recommendations and communicate the same to you in a timely manner. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at the Club.

12.01.2022 MINIROOS TRAINING SUSPENDED Given the unfolding situation regarding Covid-19 within Australia and across the world, we at the Geelong SC wanted to provide our members with an update on the precautionary actions we are putting into place across our Club. The Club has decided to suspend all Miniroos (U7 - U11) training sessions for a period of 2 weeks, effective immediately. This will be reviewed, and maybe extended, as new information is received. ... While our club has no reported cases, we are sure everyone can understand and support that our community and club members health & safety is our main priority and feel that this is an appropriate action to take at this time. 08.01.2022 Covid-19 UPDATE Last week, The Victorian State Premier Daniel Andrews eased some restrictions in Victoria and Football Victoria provided conditions regarding how training can take place. The Geelong SC now await clarification from Geelong City Council regarding access to Stead Park and any conditions they may have in relation to that access.... The Club Board is working behind the scenes and ensure that when training does commence, we do so safely and in line with government guidelines and restrictions. We look forward to seeing everyone back at the club for training in the near future.
