25.01.2022 Day 7 of Shitbox Rally was 'smurftastic' as we spent our time driving on 492kms of unsealed roads heading out of Copley to where Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia meet at Cameron Corner.
25.01.2022 Check out the highlight reel from this year's 10th Shitbox Rally If you haven't already signed up for next year's autumn rally which will take place in May 2020 and will depart from Alice Springs to arrive at the Gold Coast - via the Gulf of Carpentaria - what are you waiting for?!
25.01.2022 Day 10 - our last day on the rally - and boy were we glad to get across that finish line after an epic 10 days driving across Australia!
24.01.2022 We've been out of signal range for the last 4/5 days of the rally but as you can see - we're nearly at the finish line in Sydney! We're tired, both sick and looking forward to a hot shower and comfy bed instead of our swag - and a few drinks to mark the end of the 10th anniversary of Shitbox Rally Any guesses for where the 2020 Autumn Shitbox Rally will start and finish?!
23.01.2022 Day 9 was spent mainly on sealed roads (447kms) and 131kms on unsealed roads to Cudgegong in New South Wales - our last full day of driving before heading off on day 10 to the finish line in Sydney.
22.01.2022 Reminiscing about our adventure on the 10th anniversary of Shitbox Rally The signal was pretty scarce on the second half of the rally so uploading photos was out of the question. Check out these photos of day 5.
22.01.2022 We’re getting to see some of the red dirt again now as we head inland. Day 3 kicks off soon on the Shitbox Rally and its unsealed roads all the way - 473kms to Warakurna where we will then set our watches 1.5 hours forward?! Warakurna is a large Aboriginal community located in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia and only has a population of around 180 - so we hope they’re ready for all 550 of us!
22.01.2022 This was what day 4 looked like of our 10 day journey across Australia with the Shitbox Rally teams!
20.01.2022 It's starting to feel real now! Debriefing ahead of the 10th anniversary of the Shitbox Rally We'll be on the start line tomorrow morning!
17.01.2022 This is what it’s all about - 10 years of fundraising for the Cancer Council to help fund research into this awful disease. We are proud to have just completed our 5th Shitbox Rally
17.01.2022 This is what day one of Shitbox Rally looked like - Perth to Kalgoorlie! We’re up and about and getting ready for day 2: 356kms on sealed roads and 307kms on unsealed roads - should be fun! We’ll be heading for Tjukayirla Roadhouse located deep within the Great Victoria Desert on the Great Central Road where we’ll swag it for night two
17.01.2022 The 2020 Shitbox Rally route for autumn has been revealed! We'll be starting out from Alice Springs heading north to Karumba on the Gulf of Carpentaria before heading south-east for the long drive to the Gold Coast. Half of the route will be on unsealed 'roads' (if you can call them roads) with plenty of river crossings to keep us entertained. ... We'll be travelling just under 4,000kms in seven days from Alice Springs, Barkly Homestead Roadhouse, the Northern Territory Hell's Gate Roadhouse, Karumba into Outback Queensland via Kynuna, Taroom and down to the Gold Coast.
16.01.2022 We're at Optus Stadium on the start line for the 10th anniversary of Shitbox Rally heading from Perth to Sydney via Uluru. Today we'll cover 591kms on sealed roads to Kalgoorlie at the end of the Great Eastern Highway. Kalgoorlie was founded in 1889 and has just short of 30,000 people living there!... 15.01.2022 We've made it across the finish line of the 10th Shitbox Rally at Centennial Park, Sydney. An epic 10 days across Australia - Perth to Sydney via Uluru - 5,150kms covered (not including the trip from Adelaide to Perth)! We are really looking forward to a hot shower and a decent night's sleep in a bed instead of a swag.... Thank you to everyone for their support this year. We've both been crook the last few days and to be honest, all we really want to do is relax tonight before tomorrow's party and big reveal of next year's autumn route.
14.01.2022 We made it to Uluru where we parked up for the night - lots of pesky flies but brilliant blue skies over the rock! For Mother's Day and day 5 of our 10 day rally, we're travelling to Oodnadatta - 547kms on sealed roads and 210kms on unsealed roads. We are hoping to arrive by 5.30pm.
14.01.2022 From Cameron Corner we headed to the New South Wales village of Louth on day 8 of the Shitbox Rally
10.01.2022 On day 6 of Shitbox Rally we headed to the quiet 'town' of Copley - back in South Australia. At the 2006 census, Copley had a population of 104 - needless to say - 250 shitboxes and 550 people made it much noisier!
07.01.2022 It's official - the autumn 2020 Shitbox Rally route will start in Alice Springs and finish on the Gold Coast. In the words of Arnie - we'll be back - we hope
03.01.2022 Fantastic coverage of Shitbox Rally in Perth this morning at the start line of our epic 10-day journey to raise money for the Cancer Council.
03.01.2022 Day 4 is here and we’re headed for Uluru along 332kms of unsealed roads - hopefully a bit of an easier day with a scheduled arrival of 3pm.
02.01.2022 They call us the Fire Starter! Last night's campfire rounds off a great first day on the 10th anniversary of the Shitbox Rally
