The purpose is to bring the Gel Blaster community together to discuss the proposed regulation changes presented by the Queensland Police in regard to Gel Blasters. 24.01.2022 Hey guys just thought we better take the time to put up a post regarding Covid-19. I know a lot of people thought that I should release an official statement so... here we go my official advice is as follows. Follow the advice of our prime minister and all the government departments that are working tirelessly to keep our country safe Now that we have that out of the way I would also like to say this. Thank you to everyone who thus far has shown there support to the association it means a lot. I hope that everyone within the gel ball community takes this time to do some much needed maintenance on their blasters or maybe do a few sneaky mods (what else would you really want to do whilst in lockdown?) Onwards and upwards guys I hope that once all the chaos is over and we cross the bridge to the other side that we all get to continue the sport we love together and please remember the facebook page will remain open and moderated if anybody needs any advice or anything. 20.01.2022 AN update on the changes to Queensland Gel Blaster and replica firearm legislation: The changes to the Weapons Act will not come into effect until February 1, 2...021 at the earliest - so right now, if you own a gel blaster or replica firearm you do not need to change anything. Your gel blaster/replica is still currently classified as a toy (until the new legislation comes into effect), but obviously you should not take them out in public unless they are in a bag or do anything silly or attention-attracting with them. Be sensible, in other words. We have been very busy over the past year fighting attempts to reclassify gel blasters, and put in a lengthy submission during the consultation period outlining our objections and issues with the changes. We also have been liaising with gel blaster industry representatives as well. The new legislation is vague and badly worded, and relies on changes being made to the Weapons Categories Regulations 1997 and Weapons Regulation 2016. The Government has refused to elaborate on exactly what those changes will involve and we have already pointed out this is unacceptable. We will be meeting with Weapons Licensing Branch in due course to discuss and find out more information about the planned changes and will keep you all posted. In the meantime: Write to your MP and tell them you are unhappy with this legislation and want it changed; that you want the requirements for gel blasters and replica or deactivated firearms to be locked away removed, and that you are angry the Government ignored submissions from multiple organisations and citizens asking for the existing legislation not to be changed. For the record, and for your information considering there is an election coming in October: The legislation was passed by the ALP using their parliamentary majority, supported by the Greens, it was voted against by all KAP, PHON and LNP MPs, who spoke at length about their objections to the bill and its changes.

17.01.2022 All of our hard work is finally starting to pay off. The process has been lomg and tedious but i Just received a report that the LNP. That they have disagreed with the proposed amendments to the bill that mark Ryan is trying to get through about gel blasters.

13.01.2022 Ok guys first if all I would just like to say a massive thabk you to all our members and everyone else that has supported us over the past 12 months. Everything that happened in parliement yesterday we are well aware of and at the moment it is business as usual. The restrictions that were voted on seem reasonably fair and wont cause to many problems for players.... We are still not a fan of the restriction and endeavour to do whatever it takes to try to persuade the goverment to change their minds. We are open to any suggestions that people may have and our inbox is always open. At the moment you just need to: sign up to an association/club. Carry blasters covered so public cant see. And lock away at home when not in use. Thats pretty much all we know at the moment. We will know more when the ALP put pen to paper so we can work out what it all means entirely. 11.01.2022 Hey guys i would just like to take a minute to say a massive thank you to everyone that made the effort to come out and support the association tonight. Its really good to get everyones veiws/opinions and for the most part seeing everyone playing nice. We will talk to everyone soon. A special shout out to Luke Cudmore for showing up and having the guts to voice his opposition opinion i think we had quite a good chat about it and i hope we can work together in the future. Ma...ssive shoutout to Billie Reynolds for being our extra pair of hands and filling in for Josh Spartan Favarato in his absence oh and lets not forget yo say thank you for bringing all the lollies Big few days ahead for myself with flying to canberra tomorrow for parliement friday. I will update everyone as much as i can friday arvo after parliement. Then of course we have the meeting with QPS/WLB on monday to hopefully get some clarification on what the proposed changes actually mean and hopefully we can see a draft. 06.01.2022 Ok so here we have it.... the time is now!!!!. Gel Blasters and there definition in the weapons act/firearms regs are due to be in the firing line at the next house sitting!! Mark Ryan wants Gel Blasters (toys) regulated essentially like firearms.... Regulations like: Legitimate reason to own a gel blaster. Member of a club/association. Storage requirements. Do we need to have more consultation with the public actually involved or are we happy just to Be told? Do we want these regulations put in place or Do we want to say no! These are toys! We need to campaign harder now more than ever to get the point across before its too late! This is from the last consultation I had with the LNP saying that there are already laws and regulations in place that looks after public safety in regards to gel blasters. I know who Im voting for!

06.01.2022 Ok so I have been wondering what to write for my blaster story but I could never find the right words. My wife made that easy for me when I got home from my meeting lastnight this was waiting for me...... #yourblasterstory I see you work 100 hours a week and not complain.... I hear you say " just one sec, Ive gotta get this" as Im mid conversation I see you answer every call or respond immediately because you are on the phone helping someone else. I watch you as you stay up past midnight reading laws, legalisation and clauses. I take photos of moment where you shake hands with MPs and politicians getting support for this fight I hear you as you have these educated conversations with the most powerfully appointed people Ive ever heard off I roll my eyes as you turn down my favourite song because you have been waiting on this call all day & now is the the only chance youll get to take it I chat with you when you have these ideas on how to keep fighting I ride the waves of doubt with you after a bad day and convince you that without your fire, none of this would be possible I see the nights when the internet has been cruel and people have kicked you to many times that day. I see you plan on how to bring people together for one reason only and thats the sport I dont see you playing this sport anymore. I secretly love that youve learnt to keep your phone on silent when Ive begged for us time but it still doesnt leave your hand and with one arm on my neck you text with the other. I hear you be the voice for the guy who cant get answers or doesnt understand what language their container suspension notice is written in from the border I watched you over come insecurities and publicly spoke not just on live platforms but tv & radio I see you challenge yourself and over come fears I see you teach our kids how important it is to live life with no fear, passion & to hit things head on and open minded And I do most of this silently Love Your Wife

01.01.2022 Hey guys just thought I would post a short update. I spoke to weapons licensing today and they are trying really hard to update their website and send us all a...n email outline what all these changes will mean. Rest assured that nothing has changed you will just require a reasonable excuse to own your gel blaster (this will be an easy 1 to follow) also making sure that they are stored safely in a locked container please be clear that this does not mean a safe (your house is a locked container) These changes now that qps have been 100% open about everything. It seems all these changes will be very positive for the sport and the community. Please don't forget to STOP AND THINK! If you are a law abiding Gel Blaster Owner rest assured that these changes should have little to no affect on you. If anyone has any questions at all that they would like clarified please don't hesitate to ask im available most of the time either via messenger or comment below.
