25.01.2022 Why Batteries Are Awesome! Today, one of our customers told us that they were affected by an Energex grid outage in their area. As the customer had to work from home, this would have been quite an issue but luckily they had a battery installed! Because they added a TeslaPowerwall 2 to their system through the government battery scheme spearheaded by Dr Anthony Lynham MP, they were able to continue working from home and living a normal day to day life, even with the grid dow...n! 22.01.2022 We have seen some massive storm cells pass through SEQ over the weekend. With the severe weather, there will be some systems that have been subject to damage. Some damage can be visible from the ground, but there could be damage to the panels on your roof or other system components. For your safety, if you can see that your panels are damaged, it is important to follow your system shutdown procedure. There can also be damage to the system components even if your panels are in...tact. This won’t be physically visible but can affect the performance and safety of the system. 19.01.2022 Fundraising Lunch To Support Wynnum Community Place! For lunch today the GEM Energy team all brought in food and a donation to help people struggling in our community. Wynnum Community Place provides food hampers, medication and essentials for struggling families as well as grooming services, food, counselling and showers for homeless people in ... our community. Many livelihoods have been impacted by COVID this year and we are lucky to still be able to run our business!

15.01.2022 2020 CEC Design and Installation Award Finalist! Unveiling our 56.4kW PV and 138.2kWh of storage, off-grid solution for 2 luxury environmental Eco Cabins for our client, Spicers Retreats. The team at GEM Energy had to utilise all of our experience to pull off this incredibly challenging project to exceptional standards and ensuring the site is always powered for guests. The site is 3 hours west of Brisbane at the Spicers Scenic Rim Trail and can only be reached via 4WD trai...ls. This posed massive logistical and design challenges and we're excited for our work to be recognised by the Clean Energy Council! The system has been modelled and designed to be fully off-grid, complete with battery storage and a backup generator. Congratulations to everyone involved!

09.01.2022 99.8kW Solar PV for Cleanaway! Cleanaway is Australia’s largest waste management company. They embrace environmental sustainability and responsible business practices as core values of their company. We’re glad to have them on board as we help their ongoing transition towards renewable energy! #sustainablefuture... The first system of a larger rollout, has been installed on the roof of an organic processing facility, located in Dandenong South, Victoria. The system was sized to reduce the grid-consumption of the site and claim the maximum upfront benefit of STCs. We installed 227 x 440W Canadian Solar Inc. panels and 1 x Sungrow SG110CX inverter. Future systems will be installed on Cleanaway sites from Brisbane to Perth and will range from 40kW to over 1MW. We’re excited for what is to come with this partnership as Cleanaway work towards offsetting their carbon emissions and saving on energy costs with solar!

08.01.2022 GEM Energy to deliver a ground-breaking project for Townsville Catholic Education! The project will consist of just under 8MWh of Tesla battery storage and 5.1MW of solar PV, a 10 year partnership across 27 sites, and a total project value exceeding $20m. The project will also recognise revenues from VPPs and FCAS market participation. It’s great to see organisations making decisions like this despite a global pandemic and as we have continued to do over the last few months,... we’re confident of delivering this project safely and successfully through COVID-19. 05.01.2022 Check out the 99.9kW system on Crocodylus Park in the NT! This system has been designed with care and quality components to withstand the harsh Darwin climate. GEM Energy worked closely with the client to determine the best solution for the park. With over 250 panels installed on the roof, the system will save the park $46,000 each year in energy costs. Not only will the system reduce energy costs for the park, it will significantly reduce carbon emissions, with 107,556kg ...being offset annually. That's equivalent to 23 cars driven for one year and 13.7 million smartphones being charged! Great to see this iconic local business embracing renewables.
