19.01.2022 Government ramps up COVID-19 response for all passengers arriving into Australia. Prime Minister Scott Morrison has just announced that everyone arriving into Australia by air must self-isolate for 14 days, to help slow the spread of coronavirus. Speaking at a press conference in Sydney, he said the National Security Committee had decided to "impose a universal precautionary self-isolation requirement on all international arrivals to Australia," with the move effective from m...idnight tonight. "We are seeking to assist Australians to come home by ensuring the flights continue to run, but when they come home, they'll be spending another 14 days in self-isolation." "We will also ban cruise ships from foreign ports from arriving at Australian ports for a period of 30 days," the Prime Minister added. All non-essential gatherings of 500 people have been suspended, but at this stage schools are not being closed. More information in tomorrow's issue of Travel Daily.
