24.01.2022 Projects that are going help people celebrate special events are always fun! The angles involved created some challenges...but I got there in the end! Thank RD Wedding & Events Co for choosing GEMZ to help with your event supplies. Lovely meeting you Rebecca. Plus a small project...again lots of angles, but plants will look lovely in this pagoda style Strawberry planter and my house miniature for another order is getting there too! Let me know if there is anything I can help make reality for you!

24.01.2022 So good seeing the creations I make all dressed up a decorating weddings and events!

19.01.2022 I love making stuff out of pallets!! There is no end to their uses! Fun stuff for kids and adults alike, all the way to fire wood...only the scraps though. I'm so thankful to all the people that have purchased my creations and encouraged me when we they see what I do & my family that help out to let me do what I do. Here's a few pieces from the past couple of weeks...back to the tools!

18.01.2022 It's been a great start to the New Year...I can't believe we're already half way through February! I've had fun making a swing seat for an order. I had to do some engineering homework to make sure the chains and shackles were suitable for the job. My ever faithful & helpful hubby was on hand for the heavy lifting and installation...we even set up a clothesline as an extra job too. I've made a decorative love seat for a new look style of outdoor furniture. Thank you to Zhané &... Thomas for showing how comfortable it is If it looks like something that would suit your outdoor area please message for more details or to place an order. Making some woodwork kits for primary school kids has been another recent project too. I'm also doing some cleaning and the tubs that store linen were annoying me...so the melamine sheets I picked up from a local business that had discarded them came in very handy today. So many different areas of creativity opening up for my little business. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement!

18.01.2022 It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Lots of fun in the sun this week preparing some Christmas decorations for the Carols on the Civic Green. Putting up some Christmas lights for a friend. Gardening to tidy up to make the yard fit for Christmas guests. Thank you all the amazing people that helped make it happen! Also, I've finished staining some tables up for a special order and getting a bar painted and put together. Mud kitchens and other items I've been having f...un with! I may still be able to help with a Christmas order if you get in quick! Happy birthday to our Grace Elise and congratulations on your school awards! Some R&R with my Princesses in there to ensure I can continue doing what I love! See more

18.01.2022 This weeks fun is making a giant chalkboard with "wings" and painting up a purple mud kitchen! Plus a little bit more brick work on the miniature house. Never a dull moment here! AND our renovation plans are finally at the council for approval and I've applied for my Owner builder permit too...then you'll get to see our biggest GEMZ Recycled Project to date taking place. Just a little bit excited and daunted by workload ahead. Watch this space

16.01.2022 The wheels on the bus go round and round...fun in the sun this week making up this order for a local kindergarten. @ Warrnambool, Victoria

14.01.2022 Loving the sunshine we've been having this past few weeks. It has enabled us to get our yard tidied and in order for the next phase of Garage Reno's are GO! So we had a big game of Rush hour moving vehicles and pallets, etc to gain space and vehicle access to our backyard again! I've also made some more letters for Christmas decorations....LOVE JOY & PEACE! I will share more pics of them when I've got them all edged! My awesome hubby @Peter Adrian Rodgers also painted behin...d our tv recently...one of those fiddly jobs that could finally get done because we needed to replace our tv! Yay to extended warranty and new toys! My gorgeous children Josh and Zhané celebrated their 11th and 20th birthdays on the 8th and 9th of October! My good friend Izzy moved house...so lots of deconstruction going on too. I made her an enclosure about 12 months ago for her ducks that goes together and comes apart in as little as 15 minutes...add an extra 10 minutes for the roof tin to be screwed on too. Very happy with it and how the pallet timber has withstood a very wet winter! An outdoor table with bench seats for Alfresco dining had to be made for her new undercover area. We also reconstructed her horse shed to become a rooster run yesterday. Beautiful sunshine to complete the first phase of the project. Then down to Torquay to visit Rell to cover and install her window pelmets that I made from recycled melamine and a lone sheet of mdf I purchased new. We had an excursion to Clark Rubber & Spotlight at Belmont for the wadding and curtain poles...thank you to the helpful stranger in the carpark who loned us his hacksaw to trim the poles so they would fit in Rell's little car. Back to Torquay Bunnings for screws and other fittings. First we wadded them all up using my trusty air compressor and staple gun! I love this invention...so much easier on your hands and so much quicker. Up til 1am installing the first one in Rell's bedroom for blockout before I head back home this morning. Looking forward to sharing my next lot of creations that people have ordered this past week. Thank you for supporting GEMZ Recycled Creations and let me know if there is anything I can make for you!

13.01.2022 There is no end to the fun you can have with making furniture from pallets and recycled timber. I've been busy making some tables for a new restaurant opening later this month and a bar too...I'll let you know more when I'm finished and they're set up! Mud kitchens are always popular. I'm still taking orders for Christmas if you're wanting one made...just get in quick with orders please to avoid disappointment.... My covered sandpit has been a bit neglected, but I'm hoping to complete it this week. I finished up an order for kindergarten earlier in November which I think I posted some photos of...not sure...anyhooo, it included a painting easel with a painting side and chalkboard side for budding artists to use. It can accommodate 6 artists at a time. Can be made smaller to fit your space My festive letters/words/numbers were hired for a concert out at the beautiful Grassmere Hall. Thank you Margot & Ian. I also whipped up another shop counter for my friend Amanda. I'm so looking forward to seeing it fully painted and decorated! I'll post some pics when it is complete. I love collaboration projects! No progress on the garage reno as my favourite helper has been laid up with back issues unfortunately...however we celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary on the 8th and enjoyed time in Torquay plus his birthday last month! November was chock full of busy! Thank you for all you encouragement and support!

12.01.2022 April is trucking along nicely. Our biggest recycled creation to date is taking shape nicely. We've mortared & concreted, chemically injected into concrete to hold steel rods in that bolt the timber frames to the footings. We've adjusted frames to allow for new sizing. Cut engineered I beams hyjoists to fit the spans and blocked them so they can't fall like domino's! Flooring is going down so that we can "raise the roof, raise the roof". God willing & weather permitting...ou...r old roof will be coming off this weekend...Whoop whoop. Planning on recycling that tin to clad the new shed walls...going for the rustic look down the east side. Sunday saw me turn a year older and it bought me great joy watching & listening to my gorgeous children working together to move building materials together. Thank you Tyler, Zhané, Grace & Thomas for all your help and the entertainment you provided at the same time. A fun Zoom call too. Loving all the new technological meetings I can have online. 2 Happy hours on Friday evening were fun Only one injury for the project thankfully, me cutting open my ankle on some wire...all good though. Wound clean & a tetanus injection attended to. I was due for a booster anyway. Loving seeing the project take shape...not loving the huge game of Tetris taking place with belongings stored in the garage. My favourite team mate, Peter is still juggling full time work whilst we complete the project and I couldn't be more thankful for him!! Easter saw me dressing up as the Easter Leopard...the only hooded onesie costume I own. I also got a sewing project completed on a onesie I've had sitting on my "To do" pile for ages! I've made a few special deliveries of GEMZ creations to help people survive Iso life with some outdoor furniture & play equipment Thank you for your continued support! I'm still taking orders...cause you can never juggle too many projects at once. Recommend my creations to your friends and family. Keep loving on your family & friends & check in on them...& your neighbours too. God bless til my next post

11.01.2022 We've got 2 sides of the bike shed clad in newly painted weatherboards. Yippee! We've had a visit to the hospital for a green sick fracture to my son's left arm, a basketball semi and Grand final win plus State tball finals too...all of which Josh didn't get to play! I've made and delivered a Large Deluxe Mud Kitchen (LDMK) to Colac. The yard is getting cleaned up in preparation for the garage renovation. Generally enjoying being outside in the lovely Spring sunshine! ... Plus meeting a special Princess Violet! See more

10.01.2022 Last week was a bit of a roller coaster ride...but GEMZ creations helped keep me sane...well sort of My week involved creating a garden bench for a very happy client that was delivered by my ever helpful husband! A pretty in pink Painted Standard Mud Kitchen and a Toybox with personalized name signage plus a Standard Dual Sink Mud Kitchen kept the tools and paint brush humming.... Still framing out my letters. Hoping to finish them today...stay tuned. Thankfully, I'm receiving Christmas orders nice and early. Don't hesitate to contact me for your birthday and Christmas gifts!

06.01.2022 Wow...what an interesting month March was and April is shaping up to be. I pray you are all keeping safe and well, employing hygiene measures to prevent the spread of infection and eating a healthy diet full of nutritious foods, vitamins and minerals to boost your immunity! There are lots of projects on the go for GEMZ Recycled Creations. We enjoyed a couples retreat down at the Phillip Island Waterfront House with our amazing friends Dessi, Kent & Margot! Such a fun weekend ...of friendship before our social isolation measures took effect. Our eldest child Tyler turned 23 so we had a liquid dessert and tried out some cocktails at the Hairy Goat...very nice. We've poured the concrete for our garage footing and have begun putting the frames up...I have a backyard again!! The frames have been in storage for the past 2 years. It is so good to finally be pulling off the tarps and putting them to the use they were created for. Another job to help with the building process is a small retaining wall...I'll post some pics when we get to it! I've finished off a window seat for an order. Looking forward to seeing some photos of it being used and enjoyed! Thank you Colleen for the opportunity to decorate your lounge room with a GEMZ creation! I've also been helping a couple of friends finish off some projects... For Lisa I was sealing up a wall, ceiling and floor, packing some off-cuts to be used for firewood for Melissa, hanging some doors for Lana, making a toilet roll holder and delivering a mud kitchen too. Never a dull moment here! A gardening dresser I made a couple of years back has headed off to a new home which makes a space in the yard...I'll have to make something new to replace it. I'm also making a letterbox to keep the dresser company. I finally clad the front of the bike shed with weatherboards...it looks so good. I've started making a mirror using some of the weatherboard off-cuts. I just need to finish the frame and it will be done...you can see a sneaky peek of it at the end of the window seat pic. Unfortunately, this week I dropped my phone as I was juggling stuff as I walked out of Bunnings with building supplies and it no longer has a usable screen and now my dinosaur phone is extinct...so the photos I have for this post are somewhat limited as I am trying to transfer photos across to my laptop from pics I've sent via Messenger. Thank you for sitting still long enough to read my epic post...I didn't get to do one for March and already so much happening in April. Feel free to forward any ideas or orders you have via Messenger. Online payment and no contact delivery can be arranged for your custom GEMZ Recycled Creation!

06.01.2022 Enjoying beautiful Phillip Island with our gorgeous duo. Back home tomorrow and recommence work on the garage Friday...a couple of days of has been great r&r for the body and mind @ Ramada Resort by Wyndham Phillip Island

05.01.2022 This weeks fun in the sun has been making Cape Cod chairs for one or maybe a love seat version for two! The loveseat is on castor wheels for ease of movement to reposition in your yard or on your balcony. It has storage under the seat for your book or magazine, etc plus it has shelves in the back to put plants or your drink bottle. They also come with a holder for an umbrella in the back for shade. The first person to order a chair or loveseat this month will receive a free ...umbrella and plastic wine glasses to enjoy with their seat. Cushions do not come with the seat but can be custom made for you at an extra cost. We've finally got some weather boards onto the bike shed plus newer and stronger wheels...cause every bike shed should be movable! We finally finished the miniature house for Caitlyn to use as her wishing well at her wedding and her letterbox in the future. Some gardening too. I've built some stackable planters for my strawberries and garlic, I still have one to fill up...thoughts people?? Everything I make us for sale. Just message me with your enquiry or let me know if there is anything I can custom build for you.

04.01.2022 Another year old and hopefully wiser in April...I scored a reno reminder on my ankle for my birthday...didn't keep me down for long though We built a retaining wall for beside the self contained unit we plan to build. Some muddy moments whilst landscaping to level off the yard. The garage roof is off! I had a fun time demolishing the roof trusses with Tyler. Plenty of firewood with some reclaimed hardwood timber for future projects. The roofing tin is stacked & stored for r...euse on the garage for wall cladding. We've finished laying the flooring for the new frames to be built and erected on. A few small projects on the go when the weather prevents us from garage progress. Josh and I made a cool "wave" for a school art project...some flower presses for a creative friend to paint...a new shelf for my closet and caring for my seedlings and existing vegie garden. I had a very Happy Mother's Day with my family...I hope yours was special too! I'm making a cubby and maybe an extra special King Size bed with lots of storage...photos to follow in a later post. Take care. Stay healthy & safe. Keep your social distance. If you need anything made...don't hesitate to let me and I'll see what I can do.

04.01.2022 Lots of progress since my last post plus a couple of shin bashing moments and a ladder tumble...oops...on same leg Wiring, plaster, cement sheets, wall and ceiling batts, painting, digging holes and sourcing materials, new and used...vaccinations to be able to do some painting at a local nursing home too! Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there... and to my awesome dad's! Scaffold is almost all down and unit foundations have been started. Awaiting plumbing to be done then the real fun starts. Thankful for the orders I've received in recent weeks. A couple of deluxe mud kitchens, a clothes cupboard and a fruit and veg cart plus a project for a gift. Never a dull moment. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest post... I'll try and post a bit more regularly once reno is done!

03.01.2022 I love working with Alana to help make people's special day all the more special!

02.01.2022 Edition 2...previous swing was a bit too wide for its hanging location. No problem! I'll just make another one @ Warrnambool, Victoria
