17.01.2022 This is a warning to everyone who has redraw funds in their mortgage they are keeping there for whatever purpose. May I suggest you transfer it to an offset account for the time being. Unfortunately something that I was told wouldn’t happen has started happening. ME bank have cleared cleared redraw funds overnight and removed the option for their clients to take the funds when needed. This happened during the GFC for those of you who may remember. I’m saddened to hear it’...s happening again. The other lenders will follow. So if you live off your redraw or think you might need it TAKE IT OUT IMMEDIATELY. Transfer it to an offset account. Most offsets are 100% offset and work the exact same way as your redraw would. However your bank can’t touch what’s in your offset account as it’s a transaction account. I was able to consolidate the two loans into one easy to manage repayment of $355 per month. Client B This client came to me as he had 4 credit cards all maxed out and was unable to keep up with paying all of the minimum monthly repayments. He was over due on all the cards and over limit on 2 of them. He was struggling to pay the $800 approx. a month. I consolidated all these credit cards into one easy to manage loan with one simple monthly payment of $570 per month. He was able to close off the credit card accounts and set up a budget to allow the one monthly repayment to pay the debt. The interest rate he was paying with his credit cards was 22% on average along with annual fees. It going to take him 21 years to pay off. The new interest rate is now 7.99% with a plan of it being paid off in 7 years. Client C This client came to me as he wanted to reduce his car loan repayments. He was paying $1,005 a month with NAB. I was able to refinance his secured loan to another lender with a much lower interest rate. His repayments were reduced to $540 per month.
